Joyful Seafood let their food do the talking simply because it’s some of the freshest and most humbly-priced in Singapore. This restaurant on Sims Avenue around Aljunied won’t wow you with fancy decor or expensive wine, but what it will do is put a smile on your face. The service is warm and the seafood is, well, joyful. Some local favourites from the menu include chilli crab (of course), salted egg crab and curried or black bean sauced fish head. The sambal squid is difficult to go wrong with and the stir-fried clams, well, just go and try them. If you’re not feeling too fishy then have no worries, Joyful Seafood also serve up a host of pork and chicken dishes, and there’s a strong showing from the versatile beancurd for those who don’t feel like any meat at all.
