More about Hopscotch Bar, Singapore

Mixes From Mars are serious about cocktails. They’ve been bartending Singapore events for some time now, and have already set up a permanent outpost in the form of Mars Bar. They’ve now launched a fresh invasion, holing up in a former traffic cop shop along Maxwell Road, the Red Dot Traffic Building, to bring the eager masses their shake on classic and contemporary cocktails. We hardly need to propagandise on Hopscotch Bar’s behalf, but we will. Local goodies such as The Arab Street and Scissors, Pepper, Stone galvanise the taste buds, while given time and some serious backup you can hop through a dozen premium scotch whiskies or, indeed, hop to the tune of their craft beer selection.

Hopscotch Bar is a clear rival to the premier cocktail bars that litter Singapore’s skyline. Their unusual premises in Maxwell Road’s Red Dot Traffic building offer a challenge to the notion that quality cocktails are an exclusively posh proposition, and their down-to-earth sensibility and insistence on the alien end of paired flavours, infusions and tinctures are attitudes carefully attuned to Singapore street culture. Hopscotch Bar features – and makes noise about – regular guest bartenders that set the Hopscotch Bar ablaze (sometimes literally) for one night only. Upsetting anonymity is just one part of Hopscotch Bar’s fresh approach to the cocktail experience.

Amazing cocktails, huge range and very creative. The Red Dot offers also a great atmosphere. I highly recommend posting a visit if you love cocktails. Can't wait to discover where the new location is going to be.

Highly attentive service, very knowledgeable proprietor most creative cocktails and unbelievable one for one deals. A hidden gem. This place will be most likely be moving early to mid next year. I would definitely go back to their current and future location.

Sooo...I should start by saying that I have enjoyed many cocktails - including craft cocktails - over the years, all over the world. The guys at Hopscotch should get high marks for effort and presentation, but they need to work on producing more refined drinks. We ordered 4 of their popular ones - Jewel, Garden, Thyme, and another one I forgot. While interesting, the combinations were just that. Most were sweet, very sweet, and not so much alcohol. Then I ordered a classic one off the menu which was also not very balanced. All in all, I think with more experience and a more refined palate, they can grow up.

Very good variety of cocktails served. This includes local Singapore inspired flavours. Bespoke cocktails available too. The service is prompt, friendly and unpretentious. Only improvement to be made is to point the sound monitor away from the outdoor seats as the music played was too loud.

I thought the staff was very nice but very slow service. The cocktails were very light on the alcohol, the Secret Garden drink tasted like lemon soda (not a hint of vodka). Wine and beer however were affordable and food was nice. Would visit again but maybe not on a Friday night when crowded and not for their cocktails.

Cosy cocktail bar with interesting drinks that are thoughtful in its presentation! To top it off, they have an attractive one-for-one happy hour pricing that makes it all the more worthwhile to drop by for a drink after work!

WE make a reservation but when we reached Hopscotch, they are not able to find my reservation and asked which platform I made my reservation. As Hopscotch does not have my reservation, no indoor seats were reserved for us and we had to take an outdoor table, which unfortunately started drizzling. Overall the service staff is good and the drinks are fancy and nice.

Lovely staff and laid back atmosphere. Drinks were beautifully presented and had a local twist, although the ones I ordered were a little sweet for my tastes. Live music could have been turned down so wouldn't need to shout to hear each other.
