Within Novena Regency on Thomson Road, the chefs at El Cocinero Singapore are specialists in tacos, burritos and quesadillas, served alongside plenty of high-quality guacamole if you fancy it. The restaurant is relatively compact but it’s very fresh and cool, very much the perfect modern Singapore setting that allows the food to do all of the talking. Oh, and whether you’re veggie or you can’t get enough meat, El Cocinero Singapore has enough Mexican or Tex-Mex fare to suit. Reserve your table way ahead of time if you want to avoid missing out – you have been warned.

When anyone in Singapore thinks of Mexican food, they likely think of cheese, cheese, then a bit more cheese, with not much else in the way of flavour. This isn’t the case at El Cocinero Singapore, as the Mexican dishes here are prepared with quality ingredients and within each taco or burrito you can taste each every thing that’s gone into it. We’re enormous fans of the pork belly tacos that are smoky and citrusy at the same time, then the lamb shoulder tacos are something of a delight as well.
As we said, you’ll find El Cocinero Singapore within Novena Regency on Thomson Road where alongside all the tacos you can get stuck into some burritos and quesadillas as well. If we’re honest, you maybe shouldn’t tackle a burrito if you’ve not got the biggest appetite because to say they’re fully-loaded would be an understatement. Meanwhile the quesadillas are perfect if you just feel like more of a nibble – they’re also great for the kids! Mexican and Tex-Mex dining in Singapore doesn’t get much better than this.
