Keppel Bay, across from the island by the same name in Singapore, is home to one of E-Sarn Thai Cuisine’s excellent Thai restaurants – the Keppel Club. On Bukit Chermin Road, born from the same origin story that birthed all E-Sarn Thai Cuisine restaurants (a hawker stall over on the Farrer Road market) Keppel Club serves up the same home cooking-style Thai food served simply in comfortable, welcoming surrounds to diners from across Singapore.
They weren't very busy on the night so we received pretty good service. The grilled Cuttlefish dish was not to our liking as it was not hot and not nicely grilled (in our opinion) but, this may also be personal taste. The fish cakes were nice without being outstanding (we've had much better) and as they came out almost immediately after we ordered, we presume they were not freshly made. On the other hand, the Duck red curry was very nice with enough Duck to satisfy and the papaya salad was equally nice. Overall a pleasant if not great experience with reasonable prices allowing us to bring our own wine at acceptable corkage fee. We would try this restaurant again.
Kitchen closes at 9, restaurant closes at 10 & staff hover around to get you out of there. Was looking for a relaxing Fri night meal & unwind but felt uncomfortable & rushed. Oh well, an early Fri night was probably good for me 😆!
