very low key yet the food is very good! worth waiting but food choice were limited

Quite bad service. Would never go back again. Food portion was small and waiter gets irritated when requesting for refill. Even though food quality was moderate but does not appeal for me to visit this place again.

The service was excellent. Staff was very polite and responsive. the air con was not functioning during our visit, thus it was quite warm in the restaurant. However the staff immediately setup the portable air cons and explaining to us the situation. We were all given a scoop of ice cream each, and that was a treat for the children especially. The food was fresh and tasty, with a huge range of selection. The kitchen staff got confused with a few orders, but overall the experience was a pleasant one. With a pricing at 37++, they should not charge for hot green tea. :)

Fresh sashimi and great service though at some point, the server forgot some orders but was quickly attended to. The cooked food is delicious and served hot to the table. Would recommend for a family outing but would wish that the buffet includes the free flow japanese green tea.

Went with 3 of my friends, so there were 4 of us. Service was good. Food is not bad too. The experience was pleasant. Waitress also suggested the best promotion discount to us.

The waiter and waitress were helpful abd the food quite ok except for the super salty salmon skin and some missed/incorrect orders. Will visit again if got craving.

Dis-organised and food came so slow. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. Totally ruined the birthday occasion for my grandma!!! Totally not worth the money for buffet. Wished I went somewhere else!

Food selection is rather limited. Restaurant staff were not attentive, our orders kept getting mixed up (e.g. quantities would not come right; items ordered may not come, but items not ordered kept coming). Only thing that saved the day was the selection of ice-creams - 6 flavours.

The sashimi on cold plate was fresh.. but do not try those sashimi with salad. it is like overnight sashimi mixed in salad sauce to cover the weird taste

Nice food and good service. We had our reunion dinner for Chinese New Year Eve there and my family all enjoyed their food and had a good time there.

Good place to enjoy decent jap food. Free flow drinks and ice cream: what's not to love? Sashimi could have been in larger slices though, and not at premium level if that's what you're looking for.

The place is relatively easy to find. The restaurant has slightly poor lighting but good service. However, i feel that the ale carte buffet i had, was wasting a lot of unnecessary paper receipt with every other order printed indicating the customers' table number. It makes the serving fast but i was served with an order i did not make, which probably was due to the poor lighting causing poor visibility of the servers. The food, especially the salmon sashimi was fresh and nice to eat. This buffet provides a wide range of sushi to tempuras to yakitori to japanese noodles. They also serve relatively good gyozas. The servers were efficient at clearing the dishes and receiving our orders. Hot food were always served to us hot. And i appreciate the sg50 discount with 2nd pax 50percent discount, which makes it more wallet-friendly for students. Overall, it was a good dining experience for me and my friend.

the place seemed to be understaffed despite being lunch hours. i was there about 1pm and they had only 3 staffs. i had a hard time getting the staff's attention.

It was a good meal which my fiend n I enjoyed . There is this particular local Chinese waitress who is very polite & helpful . Very impressed with her service . Too bad I didn't get her name

I think that the food quality could be better, especially the rice used. Some cutting or portioning dries up the food like the salmon. It was so thin that it is too dry. For a Japanese ala-carte buffet, one would expect the tea to be on the house.

The serving staff were very helpful and polite. Sashimi quite good and fresh. Lots of choices for sushi. Reservations was easy, parking was easy and I would recommend it.

Food generally ok, served promptly after ordering. It appears sashimi is served by one portion size (very small) no matter how many portions you request. Therefore you might have to put in multiple orders (on separate order chits) to receive the desired portion(s). Swordfish no longer available during lunch.

Service here was excellent! Ronald and Chi were very attentive staff who made sure that all my quirky requests were answered. They were also very obliging in ensuring that we were comfortable during our meal. Food standard wise - quite good. Fried items were freshly fried and sashimi was nicely presented. However there seemed to be a drop in quantity of pieces from the first time we went, about 2 weeks back on 10 Aug 2015. Overall, a very pleasant at Shinkei and Kudos for the wonderful service staff! :)

Very quick and easy reservation using Quandoo. Instruction was to show the reservation number but staff only took my name and we were directed to the seat immediately. Service is pretty good and love that the place is not super packed. I love coming back to this restaurant to have my good share of sashimi.

Great service for the restaurant, but would be better to improve on the tracking of the orders and the actual items being served to the tables.

Overall dining experience was ok, this is my second visit. Will visit again if craving for Jap food, keep it up. Service portion can upgrade slightly would be perfect during peak period.

The overall experience was good. The food was nice. The food came in small portions, so you can do a small sampling and order more if you like. Service was adequate. Food came quite quickly.

Was served spoilt unfresh foul smell salmon aburi sushi. Feedback to the waitress and she returned to reply that the chef said out was not spoilt.. The chef must be thinking we are idiot to be fooled by his ridiculous reply.

+++++ Service is very good. Attentive enough to call us in advance informing that the air con is faulty and may not be fixed in time for our reservation. We still proceed and must say it was very comfortable even without the air-con. They did get it fix while we are there and they offer free ice cream as a gesture. Orders are taken and served quickly +++ Food, in my taste, is average.

I think the staff are not very friendly to families with kids but they do have cutlery for kids. I think the menu is too little and does not come with the drinks and ice cream. So might not re-visit again. Food quality is still OK.

They serve a variety of Fresh sashimi items. Good place for Japanese cuisine.

I like the ambiance of the restaurant, with an environment to suit to the food they serve. The food is, of course, exquisite. However, its strong flavor was slightly overpowering and the drinks could have more variety.
