Bistro Du Vin - Shaw Centre

Dined in Bustro du vin few years ago. Portion of food might be more before as compared to now. Beef cheeks has always been our favourite dish. Overall experience was pleasant.

Both lunch and dinner are good! Not fancy but not too casual.

We used to go to Bistro du Vin every two months or so, but haven’t been back for over 15 years now. This last visit shows why. Service is the best part of BdV - attentive even if not pro-active. The food is flavourful, but ingredients are not high-quality. Mussels are tiny, the fish in my bouillabaisse is not fresh, and portions are not generous . More importantly, the bouillabaisse was more a fish stew than a bouillabaisse! In France and evrn in Paris, for the same price, you can dine at a 1-Michelin-star restaurant. So, we will not go back for another very long time, if ever.

I am a big fan of their duck confit but wanted to try something else on their menu. Went for the steak, am not convinced. I like my steak thickly cut and juicy, here it was too thin and too far.

Another visit to BdV Had their terrine of foie gras, followed by the duck confit. Both very tasty and recommendable I will be back :)

Food was well presented and the service was exceptionally attentive and unobtrusive. Empty dishes promptly cleared. Wine selection was adequate and good

Food wasn’t done well as I remembered it to be and as the restaurant was full house, the waiters did not give much attention to our table.

My purpose for dining here was to try out their bouillabaisse, and it was really, really good. The apple tart was great too - just a little difficult to slice. The waitress was nice and friendly, but the manager behind the cash register was unfriendly and seemed kind of impatient? We left the restaurant near 2pm so I understand if they were waiting for customers to leave so they could close up but there were other diners too so idk lol

Second visit, this time waiting time was a lot longer between courses. Taste is ok but the duck was not as well prepared, leaving a strong scent. Dessert is ok, would still recommend for casual gatherings.

Went for the weekend set menu, pork chop was tender and moist. Overall portions are big and filling. Would recommend for weekend dates

The food was delicious (we had scallops, coq au vin, duck confit, souffle and apple tart) and the two lady servers were pretty efficient but harassed as they were the only 2 on duty during the lunch hour. the only drawback was the strong smell of fried food (from apparently 2/3F restaurants that were sent outside the building but penetrated into the bistro). The staff said they'd raised the issue with the building management but the latter couldn't do anything. A pity.

It's a great option for french cuisine in Singapore. They offer nice plates.

Philip, the director of the restaurant, always greeted us with a smile and remembered us each time we visited. Since 2011, we've dined at this restaurant and consistently enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere, high-quality food, and the exceptional personalities of the staff. We are also good friends with the head chef, Kenneth Tan. Although he wasn't there last night, the food standards remained impeccable. Bistro Du Vin holds a special place in our hearts.

Every dining experience we’ve ever had with Bistro du Vin has been nothing short of perfect! Authentic, unpretentious French food done with reliable, enjoyable precision every time. Foie gras is always done with a slightly different seasonal twist, duck confit with the crispest skin yet moistest meat, tasty steaks, fish done just right, etc. and to top it all off, the warmest hospitality even on busy public holidays! We threw my daughter a surprise 18th celebration there because of her fond memories made over the years and the team went out of their way to surprise her with a decorated birthday dessert. Highly recommended!
