As bars in Singapore go, Bar Canary is one in which to escape the hustle and bustle of Orchard Road and take the edge off with an impressive selection of gourmet food and drink. A poolside lounge by day and a seductive, low-lit haunt by night, it’s difficult not to love this place. You’ll find it on level 4 of Grand Park Orchard, not far at all from Orchard MRT and a perfect spot for casual occasions – there are beanbags, and the Bar Canary team encourage you to take your shoes off!

The Bar Canary experience is a very unique one indeed – one that really does encourage genuine relaxation. Once you’re done shopping within Grand Park Orchard, ascend to level 4 and prepare to take the edge off. The floor here is lined with a mix of faux grass turf and real grass, an array of seating (including bean bags) and an irresistible poolside vibe. Naturally, this Orchard Road hotspot boasts a very well-stocked bar that aims to give every guest a taste of summer via cocktails and boozy pops – the first of their kind of Singapore.
In terms of food, Bar Canary focus on skewers, and damn good skewers at that. Expect fresh fish, chicken and meat, as well as plenty of vegetarian options. Any of these, when dipped in Bar Canary’s vibrant sauces and satays, taste amazing. This is a bar that’s perfect to visit with a large group of your nearest and dearest as the food is perfect for sharing and the curious drinks and boozy pops go down very well indeed. As this is Orchard Road, however, Bar Canary is one of the busier bars in this part of Singapore, hence it’s wise to reserve your spot in advance.
