Place is lively and bustling, so don't expect a quiet dinner. It did take some time for our food orders to get to us, but the food was excellent and worth the wait.

I used to dine at Yakitori Yatagarasu / Hanare often before leaving for Hong Kong for work, and this was my first visit after returning to Singapore three years later. It was nice to see familiar faces, including the Japanese head chef whom I remembered from before — but unfortunately, this visit turned into an unpleasant and embarrassing experience. I made an online reservation for 4, and on the day of the booking, I called to add one more pax. However, just 10 minutes before the reservation time, one of my friends had to cancel last minute. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I informed the staff politely about the change. To my shock, the head chef came out from behind his counter, raised his voice in a rude and loud tone, and pointed his finger directly at my face, saying that “next time I’ll charge you $80 for that.” His tone was so loud that everyone in the restaurant turned to look, causing unnecessary embarrassment to our entire group. It wasn’t as if we didn’t show up or tried to avoid paying — I had already made the online payment for the reservation. There was absolutely no reason for such aggressive, unprofessional behaviour towards a paying customer. The food remains good as before, but no level of food quality can make up for being humiliated in public. I’m deeply disappointed, and after this experience, I have no intention of returning. Management seriously needs to look into how customers are being treated here — because this kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable.

Food was saltier than I last remembered. Waitress told us to "order everything together" and we thought she meant that we use the same device. She actually meant to send in all orders in one go on the same device. Got told off to do so by the kitchen guys. That wasn't so pleasant. Waitress kept speaking to me in mandarin when my mandarin is not great...

Great Yakitori and Premium beer experience! Definitely I want to comeback here!

Food was ok, but very slow. Do clarify the 1 person 1 drink policy when you buy bottles because one staff told us the bottle was for 3-4 pax but then lied to us after to say that she said it’s only for 1-2 pax. No choice because they held the credit card details and they will keep reminding you how much you need to fulfil. They don’t serve water unless you order drinks. And each refill of water comes with a new order of drinks. Honestly quite ridiculous to hear it in person that “our policy is to serve water upon placement of drink order”.

Can't rem how many times I've been here but every time I visit with friends, they have always been impressed. I visited with an ex classmate who was visiting from India and he loved the food too.

My absolute favourite yakitori restaurant in Singapore. A lot of must orders here but definitely try the chicken porridge, coriander salad, all the chicken skewers and pork skewers. Shout-out for the chicken nanban and the moreish goopy sauce!

I keep coming back because my favourite Batten Yokatoh closed down and this is the closest I've found in terms of similar food items. I love the skewers here but sadly the service can be quite horrible depending on who's serving you.

Yakitori is grilled to perfect. Crispy chicken skin, tender chicken hearts and liver. Service staff was polite and attentive. Will definitely recommend to friends!

The ambience was very cosy, pleasant & inviting. The food was great, wide variety, fresh, reasonably priced. The staff were attentive & responsive & Ryohei-san helming the yakitori station was expert & professional.
