Rakuichi Japanese Restaurant - Dempsey

Its my second time here, everything is good but food was not uo to mark.

The food is fine with quick service. The price is a little steep.

Oyishi. Nice taste and good service. Definitely will go again.

Food is terrible. Every dish was smothered in sauce. Place is dimly lit and very damp and old. Would recommend going only if you were with company you really disliked.

Love their grilled sushi in particular, will definitely visit again.

Food was good but there were quite a number of mosquitoes hovering around our table and that was very disturbing.

I am going to this place since more than 7 years it is always a pleasure to be there. The food is very good, one of the best Japanese restaurant I visited.

The dinning space is rather small and partly enclosed so is rather noisy even with only 2 to 3 tables occupied. The service standard was acceptable but probably more training is needed. The food standard was good but expensive.

Food is fresh and tasty... just that 1 of its chicken karaage wasn’t well cooked, gave feedback to the staff aft payment but she wasn’t apologetic and appeared rather indifferent - other than this, everything else was ok...

Ambience was good and quiet. Had sashimi and grill sets plus tempura soba. The sashimi and soba wasn’t great but the grilled skewer set had some amazing tasty items.

The food is consistently excellent and fresh and does not disappoint. Attentive and responsive staff.

They have very good bento sets. Their sushi rolls are wonderful, especially the grilled ones. Their sashimi is also very fresh and sliced very well (thick). :)

I like the attentive staff and food is really quite good. A bottle of 720ml sake around $90. Food prices not cheap but decent quality. Parking is free so its a plus point too.

Great place, the food is good and reasonable priced. The staff are friendly and attend to you promptly. Would definitely go back again. Highly recommended

Nice restaurant with reasonably priced food. Music thought is a bit loud and staff is attentive. Better than a lot of other Japanese restaurants. So worth a visit

The first impression of the venue is amazing. The menu, as expected is refine and unusual. The food was delicious and the service attentive until guests started to leave. Then the staff concentrated on setting up the tables for the next day. We not only didn’t get any attention, all the their running were stressful and it was noisy. Unacceptable considering the prices! Be prepared to freeze. As in many restaurants I’m Singapore, the air con is on full power.

Wonderful service and happy staff - ensured that we have place to put our many bags, consistently and promptly cleared our table to provide space for all the food ordered, all with a smile. Quality of food is good too.

Generally good experience with fresh sashimi and reasonably good food. Can improve on pricing. I will consider trying the other outlets to make comparison soon.

Hands down, the BEST and most authentic Thai food in Singapore. Every dish we tried was super delicious and brings me back to my Bangkok trips.

$315 for a platter of sashimi is ridiculous. The waitress made no attempt to warn me and at the end, it’s a more 7 hundred dollars for dinner

Ordinary family restaurant serving up all kinds of Japanese cuisine from sushi to udon. We only went because it’s the only Japanese place in Dempsey.

went there for birthday celebration, pre-arrange for birthday song and cake. they did sang a birthday song but the cake was chargeable. food was good

We got our table right after we got to the restaurant. The service was good. So was the food. We had very nice time there. Highly recommend.

As usually, the food and service are good. Had a small issue with the table arrangement but was sorted out fast. Will go back again.

The quality of food was good, sashimi was cut in good chunky size. It would be good if they could also offer Aburi sushi in smaller portions (eg. 4 or 6 pieces) rather than just the standard 8 pieces. Service staff were attentive and responsive However, some items have become pricey - spent $167 for 2 pax.

Excellent service and food in an easy location. The garlic rice, sushi , wagyu beef were all divine and the service attentive. Will go back again!

Overall had a bad experience. Credit card promo could not be used as staff identified wrong credit card. Ended up having too much food so had to take away some food. Food quality has dropped also. Will not go back anymore.

Quiet intimate setting on a Monday night in the Dempsey enclave. Food was good and fresh, service was good. Will consider coming back again in the near future.

The food is good, the service is good relatively fast and pleasant. Environment is pleasant though nothing special. Good Restaurant, nice food but needs a bit of umph to become a 6.

Lunch sets are value for money with good quality food items and a range of choices. Ambience is pleasant and wait staff friendly and knowledgeable about items on the menu.

Affordable good set lunches. Had the ladies lunch - love the aburi but the wagyu beef in spring roll was too little to do anything for me.
