Megumi Japanese Restaurant – Joo Chiat Road

Great food. Great people. But two staff who have been there left. They were good people. So I don't know why. They left without a job.

The location of the restaurant will easy to locate. However, the parking area were very limited. The service was good. Food was alright. Price were on the higher end.

Food is average but service was fine, a bit costly for overall experience. Easy to locate and access to big public carpark within 5 mins of walk.

Fresh and nice sashimi at reasonable prices. Chirashi Don and Foie Gras Sushi are recommended. Indoor and outdoor seating are available too. Worth a try!

Had the lunch bento set, curry rice and soft shell crab. Lunch bento set was value for money. Unfortunately, the food was forgettable... the rice wasn't even fluffy Japanese rice. My friend did not finish her curry rice as was the same with the soft shell crab. Will probably not be coming back.

Good food, good atmosphere. Sashimi was fresh. The food was tasty. It was one of my many return visit. Recommended for group or family lunch/dinner.

Staff was helpful and friendly. The food was good, sashimi was very fresh although a tad expensive. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. We would go there again.

Foid is good and tasty. Service mainly prompt. However I always feel like I am being rushed out of the door. Another irritation is the number of screaming kids.

Service is slow; they say that they are understaffed. Service is not at all courteous which should be because it is F&B service. My friend ordered meat with rice (ala carts) but the meat came without rice and when we asked for it, the staff had to ask if we ordered it and in an unfriendly way. She ordered the steamed egg which didn’t come until I am done with my lunch set so we want to cancel the ala carts egg she ordered and they refused because it is already ready to be served. A minute later another table asked for their steam egg which is not yet ready. So if there are continuous order why can’t we cancel ours? No one touched the steam egg served and the staff had to ask if there’s anything wrong with the egg? And thereafter they decided to speak in a friendlier manner. I wouldn’t return again. Food’s only moderate.

Food at Megumi is fantastic. Even the Kiddy meal udon is great. We had pork and tempura hotpot rice which were superb. The fois gras yakitori is grilled to perfection as well.

Quite a good restaurant for casual eats. Food is quite reasonably priced with adequate quality! Just found the premium items too pricey for my liking.

It was a quiet Monday evening and thus, enjoyed better service with prompt attention. And as always, good quality food although price is a little on the higher side.

Restaurant was busy when I visited but service is okay. Salmon don - while the cuts are thick, there was nothing to shout about. it would be better without the flakes on the rice . Miso soup is a tad too salty. Overall, okay service but I don't foresee another visit anytime soon. Green tea cheesecake was a disappointment

Did not wait long for food to be served. Even after multiple orders. Was served by service staff that were attentive e.g. constant filling of green tea.

Enjoyed all the orders we made. The hot chanwanmushi is good. The California roll seaweed wrap if crispy will be better. The beef is tender. The tempura is not oily.

Food was alright. Only gripe was that cha soba could be colder. Beef cubes and lobster avocado salad are definitely must-tries! Overall satisfactory experience, will visit again if in the area.

Great place with parking right outside the restaurant. Small restaurant with excellent and quick service. You order from a Samsung pad and the food is served shortly. Good food.

Great service. Food was good. Arrived early for lunch from the reservation time, had my table waiting for me. The restaurant filled up quickly thereafter with the lunch crowd.

Great sashimi found in a little corner of eastern singapore. it can get really crowded on weekends during dinner, so it's better to make your reservations.

food as usual was fresh and good. place was very empty with only two tables occopied. very pricey restaurant as we found the price to be very high comparing to others japanese restaurant. we use frequent this place once a week now will probably dine at this place once a month unless they review their prices.

The food quality is fresh and quite good and price is really reasonable. We didn't expect the cost to be reasonable as the area is quite affluent.

Always had difficulty making phone reservations for this popular restaurant. Online reservation made dining experience much more pleasant and enjoyable. Special fish of the day flown from Japan, prepared 3 ways definitely worth the premium price and a satisfying 3-course meal on its own.
