we had a really bad experience at the restaurant today. we were told after waiting 25-30mins of ordering that restaurant could only serve one portion of the main as they do not have enough for 2 portions. this happened after we had finished our salads, chawanmushi and appetiser while waiting for the main course to come. shouldn’t we have been told earlier when order was taken and not after we had finished the other courses and waiting for the main. i think it is just unacceptable coming from a restaurant in a 5 star hotel. this was also a birthday treat for my sister and we both had wanted to try the same dish. of course we were both upset and left the restaurant without finishing our main course.

The dining place is nice. Food was sumptuous and great!

today the unagi was a bit disappointing . missed the flavour of the past .

same good old experience as before . will surely be back .

The unagi exceeded expectations, while the wagyu was simply sublime. The impeccable service truly lives up to the restaurant’s reputation as one of Singapore’s premier destinations for Japanese cuisine.

Everything that I have experienced during my first visit to Chikuyotei was even better than what I was expecting. Apart from keeping the cuisine's standard at its peak after all these years, the hospitality of the chefs and wait staff were also thoughtful yet subtle. Should the management of Chikuyotei ever get to read this note, my only recommendation, for their consideration, would be to remove the framed poster sitting on an easel outside the restaurant. The poster is not only unsightly but obstructs the beautiful carved wooden kanban bearing the restaurant's name. Thank you Quandoo for your service and props again to the chefs and wait staff for hosting us during our visit. Sincerely, DW

Came here for lunch. The restaurant was crowded luckily I have made reservation. Food served very slow. Waited more than 30mins only gotten our lunch set. Overall food was nice and sashimi was fresh. But with the price I paid, I expected a better service.

Great unagi! It melted in our mouths :) I loved the umami flavour

Very quiet on a Monday afternoon. I heard that the Unagi is the best but did not find it so. The sauce is blend and the fish is thin.

Overall, I had an excellent experience at Chikuyotei. The food was truly first class, the service was attentive and gracious, and my dining companions and I were very well taken care of. Definitely worth visiting and recommending to anyone who has not been there yet!

Food was authentic, fresh, sized well and wholesome. However I felt it could have been a tad tastier and seasoned a bit more.( my personal preference). My dining companions felt it was good. Ambience is quiet and peaceful. Overall good but can do better in terms of food taste.

The taste. Genuine top quality even in Japan. Not locally compromised. The lunch menu. reflective of local idea of what the haught cuisine should be which is not how Japanese one is like. But if you ask Japanese waitress, it does have the proper Japanese things. Non-Japanese waitress, are not interested in understanding what she is serving so will not be helpful if you ask questions related to Unagi meals. But this happens everywhere, like asking Japanese waitress in Singaporean Bak Kuh Teh dish in Japan. Yap, there is a few, but they are somewhat mutated to Japanese taste.

Very good value lunch sets are available. Quiet and cost lunch spot.

Had to book a private room cos they don't allow children in the restaurant but they were kind enough to waive the min spend for the room. Food and service were good.

Did not expect we are the only guests there. Literally have the whole restaurant to ourselves. Shabu shabu (black pork for two of us) is above average . Fried oyster is super good! Fresh and juicy!! My guy wanted to order omakase but i am not a fan of eel. I prefer black pork. The bottle of wine that we ordered is good. Quite surprise they never give free dessert. Service is definitely good since only two of us.

Food was pretty amazing but not all courses. The eel had way too many bones which makes the experience not pleasant.

The appetizer, main course and dessert are delicious. The unagi has larger than usual bones which you need to be careful.

The omakase was quite ordinary. The fish sashimi served was fresh. The ambience was nothing to rave about. Waitress was attentive to our needs.

Food was great and filling. Price is slightly on the high side compared to other unagi restaurants.

Service staff were pleasant and made effort to recommend their signature dish. Food was awesome, cook to perfection. Portion was just nice.
