More about the restaurant: Yummy Punjaby

Yummy Punjaby, or YP to its friends, is an Indian restaurant on Singapore’s Pahang Street serving up spicy Punjabi and Northern Indian dishes from the kitchen of an ex-merchant navy captain. And this salty sea dog knows his curries, although he poached his secret spice mix – featuring around 15 different spices – from his Indian cookery mentor, his mother. Yummy Punjaby’s buffet style dishes can be packed up and delivered to your doorstep, while the restaurant has a great selection of beer, wine, whiskies and spirits to complement your meal if you’re eating in.

Thinking about making a Yummy Punjaby booking?

It’s a lonely life at sea, but a good salt breeze certainly whets the appetite, and no one knows this better than the proprietor of Singapore’s Yummy Punjaby (nicknamed YP). This ex-merchant navy captain dreamed of his mother’s home cooking when he was at sea, and the time he spent learning her secret 15-spice mix and the craft of the northern Indian curry from her. Taking this knowledge, this dream with him to sea, the captain eventually washed up in Singapore. Here, Yummy Punjaby’s admiral-cum-chef is pleased to deliver delicious, spicy Punjabi cuisine to Singapore’s multinational community.

Located on Pahang Street, Yummy Punjaby offers a buffet or a la carte selection of meat and vegetable parathas, delicious butter chicken and chicken tikka dishes, alongside a refreshing drinks menu. Yummy Punjaby also has a loyalty programme called Star Meals, whereby diners can claim a complimentary YP meal after 10 meals as well as cheap dessert and drinks top ups.
