An affordable, welcoming and incredibly satisfying restaurant that doesn’t skimp on authenticity, Xiao Xiang Yuan Xiang Cai Guan uses hard-to-find specialty ingredients imported from China to dish up delicious meals showcasing the rich aromas, vibrant colours and scintillating spice for which this ancient branch of Chinese cuisine is known. The mao shi braised pork is an all-time favourite of Hunan cuisine, though you can get a bit more adventurous here in Geylang with the crispy pork intestine or fish head and pickled peppers. This Geylang Road outlet is one of a few around Singapore, so many connoisseurs of the finer points of Chinese cuisine are well aware of Xiao Xiang Yuan Xiang Cai Guan and we highly recommend booking a table to avoid the likely queues, especially around lunchtime!
