It’s something of an irony that one of Singapore’s preeminent burger restaurants and beer gardens is located on Bukit Timah’s Evans Road, right across from the School of Physical Education’s sports hall. Forget counting calories, count instead how many ways Wildfire Kitchen + Bar can stack a burger, bun a hot dog, and grill a steak. Wildfire Kitchen + Bar operates as a self-service kitchen, leaving the friendly staff more time to do what they do best: creating a fantastic range of gourmet burgers and chargrilled steaks that rank high among those offered by Singapore’s many burger joints. Wildfire Kitchen + Bar uses only premium ingredients, with patties for Wildfire’s specialty stacks made from Rangers Valley dry-aged Angus beef and Blackmore fullblood Wagyu. Classic burgers – all with a generous 120-day grain-fed beef patty – rub shoulders with an innovative selection of Asian burgers – the Sriracha Chicken burger, the delectable Umami, and the Korean-themed Kimchi Gochujang – making this Evans Road restaurant a must for Bukit Timah’s burger-hungry.
Besides the gourmet burgers and hot dogs that have made Wildfire Kitchen + Bar’s name in Singapore, this Evans Road gem also does a line in classic fish and chips, Hamburg and hanger steaks, these last cooked to perfection in Wildfire’s Inka closed-door grill. The mighty hanger steak is 250g of Kobe Cuisine, Queensland Australian Wagyu, fattened for 400 days on grain, and served without distraction alongside roasted tomatoes and wilted spinach. It’s melt in your mouth stuff, but if you go for this star dish you’re going to want to wash it down with one of Wildfire Kitchen + Bar’s 60 craft beers.
