About Tomo Izakaya - Esplanade
Providing Japanese specialities unlike anywhere else in Singapore – except of course, for its other outlet in Clarke Quay – Tomo Izakaya inside of Esplanade Mall on Raffles Avenue is a standout dining establishment serving typical izakaya-style food. Offering everything from teriyaki and gyoza to sashimi and salads, this Japanese restaurant has just what you’re after and then some – bring the whole family for an incredible Far Eastern dining experience.
Check out Tomo Izakaya’s Chinese New Year special!
Inside of Tomo Izakaya’s Esplanade location, diners are treated to a chic Japanese-style dining area that’s suitable for both casual dining and for special occasions. The newest of two outlets – you’ll find the older one in Clarke Quay – Tomo Izakaya is a standout for quality in Esplanade Mall on Raffles Avenue. No matter when you plan on dining there, you’re sure to receive only the warmest welcome by the restaurant’s friendly staff.
Tomo Izakaya’s Esplanade Mall location features an extensive menu of a la carte items that’ll temporarily take your tastebuds on a flavour trip to Japan, and best of all, there’s even an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet featuring an array of stewed dishes, grilled specialities, sushi, sashimi, noodles, rice, salads, stir-fried and deep-fried delights. We recommend the salmon carpaccio, roasted scallops, agedashi tofu and the tasty teba gyoza. And there’s so much more where that came from – you’ll have to book ahead if you want to snag a table at this popular Japanese restaurant.
Service was prompt and food was good. The asahi beer bottle promotion even allow us to bring home the unopened beer. Will recommend to everyone!
Food was great, service staff was attentive and nice ambience!
The food are good and tasty and they have many selections. Truly enjoyed the dinner. However, some staffs need some improvement , like introducing the day promotions to customers
Tomo Izakaya @ Esplanade is always reliable when I need Asian food before catching a show at the theatre. However, the range of noodles and dons may be limited. Try to arrive early if you are in a hurry to catch a performance, as the man-power has always been low each time I visit and service may be slow.
Alright. Food taste not ideal, the sushi rice too bland and the garlic rice too though is fragrant but taste not strong enough. Service is good. Price is reasonable.
Food was good but service was EXTREMELY slow. We asked for a refill of our green tea thrice -- in the end I had to get up to get the pot myself before someone hurried to help me.
- missing on some Japanese staples eg rice sets, chawanmushi - not kids friendly restaurant - there is no cooked bentos for kids; their bentos are raw fish only - teriyaki meat balls - it was very hard and the minced meat contains tendons - sashimi handroll - there were fish bones in it
Food was good but felt that the restaurant was slightly understaffed. It's quite difficult to get the waiter / waitress attention to make and order, refill your green tea or to get the bill.
Good food, good service but food serving is slow. Very nice ambience. But the main course choice is very limited. Overall experience still consider good.
Nothing so special. Sashimi not fresh. Service gal claimed that fried rice portion for 2 pax but in fact for 1 pax. Not crowd on weekend and it indicative of substandard eatery ?
