A banker, consultant, lawyer and a physiotherapist walk into a bar… The team behind The Merry Men Kitchen and Bar make an unlikely troupe of culinary entrepreneurs, and yet their knowledge of the city’s after-work crowd has paid dividends and their restaurant is wildly popular with city-slickers and young professionals across Singapore and is ideally located for that crowd on Robertson Quay. This quirky, relaxed spot blurs the lines between hangout, café, restaurant and bar and back again day and night.

As any savvy drinker will tell you, afterwork drinks on an empty stomach are a dangerous thing indeed. Fortunately, the team at The Merry Men on Robertson Quay have got you covered. If you head over there straight from the office, expect to be confronted by a menu bursting with tempting favourites like a generous lamb shank or Angus rib-eye steaks, or smaller plates like spring rolls or mac and cheese.

Stomach lined? Excellent. It’s time to get involved with The Merry Men’s other menu – Liquid Nourishment. Grab a drink on their daily happy hour offer or something from their daily changing special menu (we like Thursday mojito night, but that could just be us). If you’re around Robertson Quay at the weekend, head over for brunch done right – that’s a four hour eating extravaganza between 12-4pm.
