The Clan could hardly have chosen a better new location for their elegant European degustation dining than in Singapore’s Dhoby Ghaut, in the PoMo Mall down Selegie Road. This privileged position is passed on to customers, who dine luxuriously on dishes typically given a contemporary twist. European fusion is the emphasis here, and the surprising combinations dreamed up in the kitchen are sure to tantalise the tastebuds. The centrepiece of The Clan’s menu is the sumptuous set or degustation menu, from which diners can pick their way through (just for example) grilled giant octopus, escargot and razor clams, chowder and ginseng consomme, barbecued Iberian pork, rounding it all off with The Clan’s homemade gelato topped with chocolate lava. Their latest addition is the light lunch menu too, which is health-conscious while not scrimping on flavour and panache.

It goes without saying that at The Clan one’s food is immaculately matched with one’s drink. Western Australian sauvignon blanc, riesling and shiraz are perfect foils for The Clan’s appetisers and main courses, while a sweet Italian moscato helps dessert down. If you are looking to woo a date, entertain colleagues, or host the most talked about Singapore dinner party of the year, you can’t go past The Clan.
