Thanks to Thai Hao Chi Mookata, Upper Thomson Road can proudly boast one of the best mookata joints in Singapore. For those not in the know, mookata is a communal Thai dish that has taken off in Singapore in recent years, due largely to the fact it has been - like much of Singapore’s famous food - tweaked and improved by local tastes. A flavourful meaty broth surrounds the dome-shaped grill plate, rather than the traditional hot water of northern Thai mookata. As you can see, talking about mookata can make one get carried away. If you still don’t know what we’re talking about, it’s time you join the party, and the best place for a mookata initiation is Thai Hao Chi Mookata in Upper Thomson, where the staff are friendly, beers cold, grills hot and place a-bustling - so be sure to book!
Extremely good charcoal mookata! Order the recommended wagyu beef, bak kwa and thai abalone, quality and fresh ingredients! Service from the staff was good too, and surprisingly they don't charge service charge. Definitely will go back again. Highly recommanded!
Was a great experience. Food was good and especially loved the chilli sauce. Nice and chill atmosphere.
The portion is big enough for 2-3 Pax, food was fresh and tasty! all my friend have enjoy their meal. Recommended to dine in !
Fresh and good food with prompt and friendly service. The soup base is tasty, not the usual water base served at some other restaurants. Highly Recommended
Soup is tasty, Meats are tender, seafoods are fresh. Order additional bak kwa and wagyu beef for bbq, love it very much! Their beer are relatively cheap, ordered a bucket too. Staffs were friendly and service was good. One of the best authentic mookata i've eaten. Parking was a little hard, but for the quality of food; definitely worth the wait. I would say this restaurant is a rare hidden gem. Definitely will be back again.
Environment is abit hot as ventilation is not very good. Price is on the high side, $39.90 for a set of 2 pax, around 10-15 slices of chicken, pork. 8-10 slices of pig liver, 2 small fish balls, 4 Pork balls, 2 -3 pieces of hot dogs and crab sticks, 4 pieces of prawn, 4-5 pieces of squid, some cabbage, xiao Bao Cai, spinach, tang Hoon, enoki mushroom and 2 eggs for the price, additional meat cost $8-$10. Frankly speaking the portion is good for 2 thins ladies. The good part is they use charcoal but is a bit slow u can't even see the soup boiling for 1hour.
Gathering with Family at Thai Hao Chi Mookata. They love it so much! They so enjoy to have great food and very friendly nice service here!
Almost everything is great except things like : it gets pretty stuffy. Could improve on the ventilation and you get a full score. 😁 Was kinda disappointed of the size of the oysters. They look humongous on the YouTube vids.... but they actually are about 1/3 of the ones on the vids. Service and staff are great!
cosy area, however it would be better if tissue was provided and a slightly bigger plate/bowl for the food to eat off. Other than that lovely customer service (goes a long way in singapores society), keep up the good work !
It's hidden behind the construction on the main road. Food is good and adequate (we took the set for 2), service is excellent. Do note that they are using charcoal stove, instead of gas stove! Will definitely drop by again!
