Singapore is mad for hotpot and there’s no shortage of great steamboat restaurants scattered around the city-state. Steamboat Cheery is a favourite of even the most discerning of steamboat fans though, attracting crowds to its Kallang Bahru location for lunch and dinner seven days a week. The pork is delivered fresh every day and no msg is added, giving the broth a superior taste and you can take your pick from an array of tasty ingredients like crab sticks, hot dogs, beancurd, top black fungus, fish maw, pork belly and fresh vegetables. With its quality cuisine, friendly service and laidback vibe, it's no surprise that Steamboat Cheery is such a hit. You’ll find it on Kallang’s Kallang Bahru – book in advance to snag one of the best tables!
Friendly service and reasonably priced . It's does not have much variety for food however it's sufficient for a simple meal. Will patronise again in future.
The food is affordable with great sauce section (especially the minced braised mushrooms). However, the service can be improved and there are not much variety
Very good soup base. Super yummy Services were slow. Our food came v slowly Portion not big. The fish we ordered was only palm size. Overall still gd
Pretty msg free soup that we can feed even our young daughter. Quality of the pork is good too. Will definitely visit again next time.
Very limited dishes available to order.. Staff told us no beef, prawns, shell prawn, abalones.. How to not have such mains when you operate steamboat food service 😐 Staff also missed on our order of additional dishes even though there were no other customers. Environment was quite warm as well. Very little fan circulation. Overall not really satisfying so probably will not return.
Overall a good experience within a neighborhood area if you are looking for a steamboat quick fix. Prawns are big and fresh, but meat and soup are so-so.
I personally enjoy the soup and its fresh prawns. Recommanded for those who prefers clear and healthy soup.
