The legacy of Soi 51 Mookata continues here in Yishun, far north of its sibling restaurant down in Geylang but packed with the same Thai steamboat goodness as its twin. The Thai mookata craze is in full swing in Singapore, and this particular steamboat restaurant is a true heartland outfit, with plenty of outdoor, communal seating at its Yishun Street restaurant suitable for large groups, incredible fixed-price-per-person value and loyalty discounts to keep you in the neighbourhood when you want your DIY brothy fix.
Soi 51 Mookata’s Yishun outlet operates buffet-style, allowing adults to dine on fine Thai-style steamboat cuisine for just $22, kids for an incredible $12. Plus, join the Soi 51 members’ club and get 10% off your bill. There are plenty of set menus to choose from, always at prices friendly to heartland Singapore families and always served in a hospitable environment. This is deep Yishun New Town after all, where community and communal dining are important aspects of daily life.
Soi 51 Mookata is easy to get to from Khatib station in the southern reaches of Yishun. Head down Yishun Street from the station and look out for the Acacia Breeze residential block. From there, follow the scent of the many Thai steamboats laid out on diners’ tables. If you’re a member of the restaurant’s club, you can enjoy a 10% discount, but you can also show your Kopitiam card for a rebate, too. Regularly packed out, Soi 51 Mookata is best reserved in advance.
Food is good! Service good! Shld really try their spicy chicken. And price is only less than 30! Will definitely visit again! Most imptly is jus below my hse!
For a buffet price of $22, the food are of good quality, be it seafood or meat. Service is excellent as well, very attentive staff, highly recommended for a good and affordable mookata experience!
Great food and great service at such an affordable price! Will definitely be back. Paid $22 for the buffer and got a huge variety as well
Nice seasoned meat and friendly staff. Spacious place with cool environment. Serving was okay as well. The chilli sauce was really nice to go with the meat
A reasonably-priced dinner buffet of $22 per pax that enabled my friends and I to indulge in our love for food and bond over one another. The stock tasted good, the meat was especially fresh and the stall owner was prompt with his service and obliging in his manner.
The food absolutely was worth the price. The service was unexpectedly fast and the ordering was hassle-free. The only part was that it could have been better if the reservation table given was outside. It was quite hot if you will to dine inside the coffeeshop - near to the stalls.
Located smack in the middle of a Kopitiam coffee-shop which was empty when I arrived just before 7pm. Then the hordes started coming. Food variety and quality were respectable for its price ($25pp if you pay by Kopitiam card and $22pp if you pay by cash).
the free flow foods is a good idea as we are able to try a variety of dishes. the meats can be tastier as i find it a bit bland. location is slightly inaccessible. the overall experience is good.
2nd visit here. Review is similar as the previous -- good value mookata at 22SGD. However note that there is absolutely no ambience whatsoever as expected, as at the end of the day this is a Kopitiam stall.
Basically not bad (food and service), business hours to 11 o'clock, but the coffee shop open to 1 o'clock, a little late to reach the diners need 11 o'clock before order food is better, where you can slowly enjoy ...
