I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! So goes the song, but you won’t give a hoot for even speaking when your mouth’s crammed full of homemade ice cream and other sweet delicacies at Rabbit Owl Depot, a cafe and ice cream parlour that injects a good dose of playfulness into premises on North Bridge Road that would induce chin-scratching earnestness elsewhere in Singapore – industrial-chic design. Yes, Rabbit Owl Depot is located in a shipping container in Bugis, lined with recycled wood and copper pipes, furniture by Triple Eye. But what we’re staring at is the menu packed with snowflake waffles, pastries, tea, coffee and cocoa, milkshakes and fizzy soda floats, and wonderful, moreish ice cream by the bowl or waffle cone!
