More about the restaurant: Pizzaface - Concourse Skyline
Pizzas meets faces at Pizzaface, an Italian restaurant and pizzeria that’s doing very favourable things for Singapore’s lacklustre pizza scene. Ok, truth be told Pizzaface offers a whole lot more bel paese bluster than just the humble pizza. They do pizzas very, very well, but also offer a rather fine selection of wines – carefully chosen and annotated – and a menu that goes far beyond the Neapolitan pie to cover pastas, sides and salads. Say hello to Pizzaface’s face along Beach Road in Bugis.

A lot of Bugis locals down Beach Road like to call in on Pizzaface simply for some proper Italian espresso. All the usual variations are on offer, plus a range of Jing Teas for sophisticated Singaporeans, and beer (Corona, Asahi and Kronenbourg) for those that know what company pizza really likes to keep. Hold your horses, we’ll get to the pizza shortly. Small bites here include spicy buffalo chicken wings and drumlets, battered calamari rings with jalapeno mayo, and the city’s favourite – truffle fries. Italian salads include a pan-fried scamorza cheese salad with arugula and balsamic, and a proper Parma ham insalate with tomato and buffalo mozzarella.
You can get your fill of Italian pasta here, too, from simple aglio olio to spaghetti vongole and a decadent granchio – linguine with crabmeat and wild rocket in a pink Mirin sauce – that’s bound to be a hit with Singapore’s seafood and Italian food fans. Ok, Pizzaface’s forte, the pizza. Red and white varieties abound, with a simple margherita starting the list off and proceeding through to salami and confit garlic, Parma ham and rocket, and the ever-popular pie for meat lovers. Pizza bianci include a black truffle variety with mascarpone, cooked ham and Gorgonzola, and a luxuriant smoked salmon with caviar and dill yoghurt pizza.
