Specialist Asian desserts are no rarity in Singapore, from Taiwanese shaved ice to sweet Chinese pastries with countless flavours of bubble tea in between. Korean dessert is still relatively unheralded, at least in the mainstream, but one place strongly stating the case that this should change very quickly Nunkkot at Square 2 shopping mall. Found right by Novena MRT station, Nunkkot is casual but classy, and the food is simply superb. Elaborate decoration and high-wire skills of the dessert chefs make Nunkkot’s exquisite desserts very photogenic, but once you get to taste them you’ll realise there is much, much more to these creations than looking amazing. Some international influence is refined to perfection in Nunkkot’s strawberry waffle or orange lemon cake, and their multi-layered crepe cakes lashed with fresh fruit and other things are crowd-pleasers for large groups. For something truly traditional, though, try tasty injeolmi toast or Korean teogkkochi rice cakes.
Value for money food, tasty, will definitely consider coming back again at a different timing to try the other desserts and set lunch. Air condition could be better
