All you have to do is say the name and you know what kind of place Lola’s Cafe is going to be, that is, warm, inviting and one of the friendliest cafes in Singapore. As soon as you step through the doors on Simon Road you’re hit by wonderful smells of fresh food and fresh coffee, all of which is best enjoyed with those who matter to you most. Everything at this gem is prepared with love using honest ingredients that are responsibly-sourced, and the result is an unpretentious brunch, lunch or dinner we’re very sure you’ll enjoy. Take a breather from the hustle and bustle of life by reserving a table at this Kovan household name.
In case you weren’t already aware, Lola’s Cafe comes to Singapore from the same wonderful team behind On The Table, and thus all the staff here are passionate about what they’re doing, ready to help and eager to welcome. At Lola’s, there’s a definite feeling of family and of being in a cafe that you know is superior to the rest in more than a few ways. Take the decor, for example, at their location on Simon Road in Kovan – cosy and scattered with homey touches in the way of cushions, plants and photo frames. But it’s not pretentious, just a great spot to enjoy humble cafe fare.
As soon as you walk through the doors of Lola’s Cafe, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee greets you, giving you only a hint of what’s to come. Sure, the signature Lola’s beef burger may be what many came here for, but the honey paprika wings and speciality crab cake benedict are also absolute must-haves, while the dessert menu will leave you spoilt for choice with a wide range of tarts and cakes made on-site – a true testament to their philosophy of putting love at the heart of everything they serve. Situated a few minutes’ walk from Kovan MRT, Lola’s Cafe is easily accessible from all corners of Singapore, so you might want to reserve a table before you get there to avoid disappointment.
Staff were nice and helpful. Selection was wide and had a good range and desserts and drinks to choose from. Truffle fries are a must!
Food was good as always and the ambience is always homely. It’s hard to find cabonara pasta that doesn’t make you feel it’s hard to finish alone but Lola’s does it so well. Definitely my comfort place for good and value food
Had an enjoyable time at the cafe. Place is cosy, the servers are attentive and the food is tasty. The chicken wings are our favourite.
Food was excellent! Enjoyed the linguini and chicken wings the most. Service was good and staff were very friendly. Definitely will visit them again in future.
I experience that i purchase one of the meal is actually a spicy burger meal, Hence the item came was spicy pasta chicken, So i told the lady about it, but she went to tell the another lady, So she come up to me and say that i actually mention and she actually repeated my orders, But i don't think she repeated as she just write it down when i say so.. So i just took the item. So after that a couple beside me actually order this item meal, ended up come another wrong item that she didn't order. So i don't think i'm in the wrong. So hope the staff don't push blame to customer. Thanks!
1st time here finally after so many years since it has opened. Battered fish was awesome. But the dill pomegrate was over flavoured and didnt match well with e fish and chips. Especially since dried herbs were used. Plus it was too sweet to taste, perhaps sth of acidity will be better paired. Crab linguini was nice, but as usual, dried parsley had seemed to dull the fragrance of the dish. Love the brownies. Warm brownie with earl grey ice cream was the best to end the meal. Would have been even better if ice cream wasnt so sweet. Sweet moist chocolately brownie with sweet earl grey ice cream and whats more sweet butter caramel? It's abit too much. Perhaps a caramel coated crunch? With a less sweet ice cream will give the perfect end to the meal. Love the experience though.
Second time here and the food was just as good. Ordered the basil pesto toast with poached egg and sautéed mushrooms (mushrooms were delicious!), croissant with scrambled eggs and bacon, swimmer crab with lemon leek linguine (only available during lunch on weekdays) and the nacho cheese fries. The pasta was a tad oily and the nacho cheese fries was a huge serving so both are good for sharing.
Found a hair in my pasta and told the manager. He offered to give me a free dessert of my choice but in the receipt, he deducted my friend's dessert because it was the cheaper dessert. I appreciate that he wanted to do smth to make up for the incident but I wish it could have been done in a more sincere manner.
Tried the Lola's chocolate cake and honey paprika chicken drumlets. These are fantastic. Service is average as they forgotten my order of chai tea latte. It tasted good but portion was a bit small. Please skip the juice as it is not freshly juiced. The juice is bottled and too sweet even though the bottle said no sugar is added.
Their food has never disappointed me, so as their service. I love their Ultimate Croissant with scrambled egg, truffle fries and Pulled Pork. I also love the location and ambience, however, you really need to book in advance to secure a seat otherwise there will be a long queue.
