There are few things that go down better among the discerning diners of Singapore than a big seafood dinner, and the styles of cooking the delicacies of the deep differ greatly all over Asia. At Kampong Chai Chee Restaurant on Jurong West in Boon Lay, they offer up a grand tour of the continent, delivered straight to your plate, and, of course, 100% halal. Try their Teochew and Hong Kong steamed fish – either seabass, golden pomfret or garoupa – or the Thai-style steamboats and soups, brought to your table with a boiling brother and a pile of ingredients for you to cook up for yourself. Add in their Western-style dishes, fried prawn and chilli crab – this is Singapore, after all – and you’re well on the way to a great night out at Kampong Chai Chee. Take the train to Boon Lay and mosey on over to Jurong West Central and tuck in: just remember to book your table ahead of time.
