iO Italian Osteria, Hillview Rise #02-01 HillV2 Shopping Mall 4, 667979 Singapore

Further Information

With the atmosphere of a wine bar and culinary quality of a fine Italian restaurant, iO Italian Osteria is something special in Singapore. Housed inside the HillV2 shopping mall on Hillview Rise but feeling more like an elegant farmhouse overlooking the Tuscan hills, iO Italian Osteria in Bukit Batok nails the ambience with a balance of traditional and contemporary design elements. Still, what really sets this Italian eatery apart from others is of course the food, curated by renowned chef Anna Borrasi and presented in a style both rustic and refined.

iO Italian Osteria specialises in small plates and shared platters designed to be enjoyed in good company over some good drinks, like seared calamari, angus beef carpaccio, authentic Italian street-food treats or boards of assorted cold cuts, cheeses and ever-changing chef’s specialties. If you’re after something heartier, though, you’re in good hands here in Bukit Batok (close to both Hillview and Cashew MRT stations), because iO Italian Osteria offer a broad range of traditional pastas (some of them hard to come by otherwise in Singapore, like the orecchiette with special Italian pork sausage and saffron sauce), spicy roasted farmhouse chicken, beer-braised beef and a choice of irresistible Italian desserts like house-made gelato or pistachio tiramisu.

It's our second visit. Food were still good and services staff were helpful and friendly. We were even advised by the service staffs that we have over ordered. Will not hesitate to visit again.

Love the place, good food, great service. Thought it smells a bit oily as it is enclosed. For the truffle bread, it is a bit over cooked. Must reserved as it is always full. Will visit again.

I had a dessert called zeppole, a special for Father's Day. It was so good after meal. My main was guazzeto. They made my day.

I heard rave reviews from several Facebook friends so I wanted to try it. It's hard to get last minute reservations and not all the times are given out to Quandoo, you may have to call the restaurant directly sometimes. I finally managed a reservation on Quandoo yesterday. The place was packed, Tables are placed very close together ( about 20cm apart) and it's very hard to have a proper conversation, perhaps because we were sitting under the speakers and there was loud music playing, I could hear the neighbouring tables more than my own family. Service was efficient and food was served hot and quickly ( I was surprised such a small open kitchen could cope with such a large number of diners). There were 4 of us and not enough space on the table for our food! We had the roast pork belly - very tender but the crackling was not as crispy as our local siew yoke! We also had the calamari skewers - not very tasty even though they were smothered in a pesto and tomato sauce. The tagolini with lemon and prawns tasted overwhelmingly of asparagus, none of us liked it. The roast chicken was huge and came dripping with juice, It was tasty and tender. The beer braised beef was melt in your mouth tender and tasty. The assorted pizza platter arrived at the end and they were hot, with a thick crispy on the outside chewy on the inside Napolitian style thick crust with lots of cheese, flavours and ingredients. I'm more a thin crust pizza person - so didn't like it as much. 2 of us say we would be back, personally I think I'll go to Pepperoni Pizza next time.

Lovely place, lovely service, lovely people. Great service hosted by an Italian lady, gave great recommendations and explained the food they had to offer with much details, although I've to admit I got lost in her accent several times. A pity we didn't get to try much since it was only a party for two and the food is pretty filling. I'd recommend the schiaciatta, porchetta and the lovely biscottis available at the bakery, truly a true blue, rare Italian dining experience! Downside is that the menu had zero pictures so it's difficult to know what to expect, local service crew barely knows anything about the food, and almost always had to seek help from the Italians for explanations, Also the lamb ragout pasta and truffle and mascarpone schacchiata was really rich in flavoring and very much of a one taste dish, so it can be really too much for two to share, would encourage people to bring more friends along and order more food to share!! ;)

Restaurant was fully booked when we were there for lunch on Sunday. Place is very popular on weekends so make your reservations early! Although restaurant was full, service was prompt and staff friendly. The roman shiacciata was to die for. The special pork belly for the day was awesome too. Also ordered the risotto and lasagna. Preferred the lasagna over the risotto. Price was worth it: $241 for Assorted pizza (M), pork belly, schiacciata, lasagna, risotto, desserts (tiramisu, strudel, choc cake) and a bottle of pinot noir. All for 6 adults and 3 little ones.

Wow! The service tremendously improved. The Chef Anna even called me before I paid the visit to let me know what can I have in this restaurant to avoid the allergen. From the stuffed roman schiacciata with oozing mascarpone cream and strong truffle taste/smell to the seafood guazzetto that contained salmon, calamari and scallop- YUMMMM. Savoured the moment. ❤️❤️❤️ #rocambolesco 🙇🏿‍♀️🙇🏿‍♀️🙇🏿‍♀️ I'm planning to go back very soon!

Came here for lunch on the day of the US presidential elections and have to attest to the fact that there's nothing better than excellent Italian food, drink and service as balm for the soul. We had the pork belly, burrata and special of the day - the duck ragu taglietelle, which were divine. We had the pistachio tiramisu for dessert and couldn't be more pleased.

Ordered 2 starters, 1 main and a dessert for 2 pax. Really enjoyed the food! Would recommend 4 people coming here to try out more food together. We ordered the Porchetta which we really liked. The skin was crackled to perfection. Highly recommended. The pistachio tiramisu (no longer in a jar) was good! Slightly to the sweeter side. Recommend to share. Atmosphere can be a little more to the noisy side due to families being there.

The food was made with fresh ingredients and cooked perfectly. The Italian street food was tasty as were the sorbet and gelato deserts. The high bay indoors provided a spectacular view of the surroundings while we enjoyed our lunch. We eat together with three children and they all enjoyed the delicious Italian food. We would definitely come back to this place again.

This is my favorite restaurant in Singapore for italian food, thr quality, price and the service is something the people must try. From the starters until the dessert and coffee is great, if you want a proof try to go with out reservation. This is a place with a word must, if you are looking for the best.

Food was great just that the timing of the food service (the mains) was not well coordinated. We were a table of 3 pax. 2 of us got of mains first and we were half through the mains when they finally serve the mains for the remaining guest. It would be nice to be told in advance if any of the dish would need to wait longer.

Best Italian Restaurant in Singapore so far (believe me, I've been to quite a few)! Stars of the night were the porchetta, burrata and the assorted pizzas (the crust was fantastic!). Service was impeccable although the place was packed to the brim. :) Definitely revisiting and bringing guests there in the near future.

Food was great! We were also well served by the warm and friendly waiters at a good pace. They took the initiative to recommend desserts, starters etc. We had a nice complimentary cake received for our kids too. Thank you for the great dinner!

Good food and reasonably priced. We had the burrata, daily special secondi, pasta and desserts. The burrata was served with very sweet tomatoes and fresh arugula. Pasta was chewy and delicious, and the Baba was light and not-too-sweet. Good place for gatherings and family.

We had a table by the full length window which gave lots of natural lights. My daughter was happy as all the food photos turned out very well. Food, especially lava cake was great. As we ordered too much pizza, didn't have room for mains. Will try it next round.

food was good but place was too crowded and noisy. they should have a room for groups of more than 10 people. we were 2 pax seated next to a group of maybe 30. We couldn't even talk because the guests were so loud and rowdy. So we didn't stay for desserts and adjourned to another place at Hillv2 instead.

Both food and service were great! Had the pork belly, traditional roman sandwich, burrata, and pistachio tiramisu. All were delicious! Only thing was the Parma ham on the burrata was a bit salty, so would prefer less ham but more tomatoes instead. Will definitely return again!

If you like great italian cuisine in a less formal but still lovely setting, pick this place. Ask the waiters for recommendations if you're stuck deciding what to eat; they'll also tell you more about the daily specials that aren't on the regular menu.

Good authentic Italian food with reasonable pricing :) must try the 4 Flavours pizza - enough to share among 4 pax as appetiser. However venue is a little ulu and restaurant a little noisy. Too bad we over ordered and could not finish everything. But overall a good experience, will be back again!

Osteria staff were busy given the large crowd. Service was still rather prompt though. Food was good. Ambience was so-so given the crowd and close seating arrangement. Definately worth a try, even though the location is a little out of the way.

Bread was very good. Atmosphere was nice and the service was reasonable. Although the wine selection per bottle was nice, it was way overpriced. We asked for a classic pasta, very simple and traditional. However, the garlic used was not fresh. It was difficult to eat. I might give it one more try but I will not buy another bottle of overpriced wine.

Service was good but overall food was a little disappointing. We were expecting more after reading all the great reviews online. Tried one of the chef's recommendation- it was some pasta, nothing special, overpriced and the penne was undercooked. Calamari was a letdown. However the Porchetta, Assorted bread and Schiacciata were really good.

Service was not very good. Initially they didn't have our reservation in their records and I had to show them my record as proof of my reservation. No apologies nor even a friendly smile. Difficult to get the waiters attention to get served. Food good but do not recommend to visit during weekends
