D’Penyetz Chai Chee - Bedok

Liked the atmosphere and the food. Background music was Indonesian songs, and my Indonesian friend really enjoyed it while waiting for food, and even while eating, singing along at times. We ordered chicken rice, as well as the soup, which also came with rice crackers. The rice crackers dipped in the chilli sauce is good. The chilli also went very well with the plain rice. My friend is a seasoned chilli eater, but even he said the level 3 spice level is good enough for him. There wasn't a big crowd as it was a weekday evening, which was good as the noise levels were low, counter service was efficient and generally gavea more relaxed vibe.

The chicken is really delicious, but be aware of the spice level. Even for an experienced spice eater like myself, I needed to be slow with taking on Level 3 chilli. The plain rice with chilli mixed in it made it more delectable. Top marks for everything except that the service could be better. Wouldn't have minded to just go to the counter, but perhaps a sign would be very informational. But it didn't detract from the experience as we'd automatically look for someone if no one comes to us, being a local.

The place was comfortable and cosy. It was pleasant eating there.

there were many seats available even though it was a public holiday.

The best food in the chai chee area! Must try!

First time here but really like it! Not expensive, good for a quick lunch.
