A chic, brick-walled venue on Geylang Road, at first sight BBQ Generation doesn’t appear to be your standard Chinese eatery in Singapore. Come to think of it, there’s nothing standard about the food, either, because these guys mix Chinese traditional methods with some interesting international and modern twists to offer up something unique. As the name suggests, a lot of the best specialties here in Geylang (not far from Aljunied MRT) come sizzling off the charcoal grill, particularly those on a skewer (pork belly skewers are a favourite, but the chargrilled green chillies and Taiwanese chicken sausage offer a tasty change), but BBQ Generation are also masters of a superb spicy hot pot broth, as well as plenty of hot and cold noodle dishes ideal for a quick but satisfying lunch.
