More about the restaurant: Alter Ego
Alter Ego is the second self of A Poke Theory, dishing out Hawaiian poke bowls by day, and unapologetically sinful international bar grub like pizza fries and fried chicken skin by night. Edgy, underground and an easy go-to for a day's brunch or night's post-work drinks by the Esplanade waterfront – unleash your Alter Ego at this Raffles Avenue hotspot which offers fine views of the Singapore skyline. Seats fill up fast, so we highly recommend that you reserve a table to avoid disappointment.

Brother-and-sister team Joey and Vannessa Lee, who took Singapore by storm with their healthy Hawaiian poke bowls from A Poke Theory, are back with a darker, more indulgent dining concept which stands in total contrast to the former’s sleek and clean image. Alter Ego, their second venture at the Esplanade Mall on Raffles Avenue, offers the same fresh and wholesome poke bowls the duo have become known for, along with a selection of rich and calorie-heavy international grub that will tempt you to let go of your diet plans and ‘indulge dirty’.
Alter Ego’s signature dish, the pizza fries, will have you fighting with your friends for the last bits of straight-cut fries slathered in a three-cheese sauce and topped with smoky pepperoni. Don’t even get us started on their bigger, badder bites like the southern fried chicken burger, chilli-cheese dog or double patty melt – certainly not for the faint-hearted. Although you’ll want to save some room in your belly for the original poke shaker, which features shoyu salmon on a bed of sushi rice with lime avocado, spiced roasted cashews, pickled seasonal veggies and fish roe. For liquid libations, a number of draft and bottled craft beers awaits, while non-drinkers can opt for the restaurant’s T2 tea jugs for some of the most exquisite infusions you’ll find in Singapore. With splendid views of the Esplanade waterfront and a tantalising menu that draws influences from around the world, Alter Ego is on its way to becoming one of the most talked-about restaurants in the Esplanade precinct. Don’t miss out on the buzz; book a table ahead of your visit.
