I don’t like the fact that they don’t tell you when you have ordered too much and just cleared the table without asking you. So much food wasted and they don’t support take home. They cleared the table so fast because they want you to order dessert. This is a very bad approach of doing business.
Love the food and the service crew are very attentive. Will be back again.
Good service, excellent food. The ambience was also superb and made a very nice evening
Overall ok. Lukewarm serving of - chap chye, soup and pulut hitam The coconut on pulut hitam had a funny taste
Great food! Price slightly on the higher side but service made up for it.
The food was very nice as usual. We liked the mini museum in the restaurant and the live piano. Thank you for the good time. Our guests were happy too.
Nice environment, tasty food, good service, convenient location! Please give it a go!
Faszinierendes wohlschmeckendes Essen in wunderbarer, authentischer Athmosphäre. Tolle Empfehlungen vom sehr freundlichen und umsichtigen Personal.
Great food and atmosphere, also accomodated our vegan lifestyle which was really appreciated. Highly recommended for that special romantic evening 😊
We dont like the service of this uncle. Very rude! The food is good but overpriced.
Very good yummy food! Excellent recommendations from Naz. Will come again.
Food are good but too expensive, difficult to come here always
Great service, attentive staff, great cultural experience within the restaurant.
Food is good and good ambience. Will visit again the next time.
The ambience, service and of cos the food is fantastic! Authentic Peranakan food, prompt and attentive service! Food can be quite pricy.
Food is authentic but they charge for every single item
All good and scrumptious, as usual. The restaurant does not offer the possibility to take away the extra food which is a shame. Food waste is a big issue and good restaurants should make sure they do not participate in this, rather they should show the way. If one or two disgraceful kiasu clients have tried to bring the restaurant to court for supposedly being food-sick the day after (which was the reason offered by our MD for refusing to pack our food) then True Blue could ask to sign a disclosure.
It's Halal, which is great to know for future reference when we have Muslim friends for meals
We really enjoyed ourervice was very good and attentive, food was great.
It was just past 9pm and my friend has not finished his main course when a senior waiter requested to clear it, I stopped him from doing so and he promptly reminded us that the restaurant closes at 9.30pm. Deserts were subsequently served while my friend is still eating the main! After dinner, we requested to visit the piano room and a junior waiter who showed us in was constantly tapping his fingers against a wooden board to display his impatience. All in all, food was reasonable, but service by the two waiters were far from being hospitable.
Great experience, nice service, good taste, but relatively expensive in SIN.
Yummy food but quite pricey! Portion could have been bigger
We enjoyed very much at a good atmosphere. Peranakan ambience.very tasty food.
Truly delicious, balanced flavors. Tucked away, try the chicken with black nut!
Not really value for money. Charging fine dining price but extremely small portions. As a comparison, a normal dish at Pan Pacific Hotel Hai Tien Lo or Mandarin Hotel Chinese restaurants (both are Chinese fine dining restaurants) charges around $26-$30 per dish. It's about the same cost at True Blue but the food portion is extremely small. I ordered their chilli pawn dish, there are only 3 small pawns served. I had the black nuts chicken dish and there are only 3 small size of chickens. I would say it's only enough for a small eater of 2 ladies or just 1 normal person per dish. I recommend going to "The Peranakan Restaurant Singapore" at Orchard (Claymore Connect Mall) instead.
A wonderful evening to enjoy the nice ambience. A little over price for the standard of dishes served.
Comfortable, tasty, good staff I would like to recommend you this restraint.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service. I was perhaps fortunate to be there at a time when the restaurant was pretty empty, but I expect the service would be great always. Definitely planning to return.
We reached very earlier than time when we booked. But we could start to have our dinner and enjoyed very much. I love traditional peranakan cuisine. Gratitude !
The ambience is great, food is good especially the chap chye, ngoc hiang and oyster omelette that suits my taste. We took a group picture after the dinner at their private room. Will definitely come again.
Excellent food and service . New items introduced , clay pot chicken was fantastic . Chendol dessert was heavenly , strongly recommended , a must try
The restaurant does not allow you to share your rice. As long as you eat one spoonful of rice, you will have to pay. And it doesn’t allow you to do take away for the leftovers. It’s a restaurant with an attitude.
Food is very nice, super sincere and warm hospitality, cozy atmosphere with traditional culture. We really enjoyed our dinner today! Will visit this place again.
Restaurant was a little hard to find due to ongoing renovations around the vicinity. Otherwise restaurant was quaint and the food was good with the bill a tad on the high side.
Lovely place, good food. Definitely a place I would recommend people to go to for authentic Peranakan food. Service crew is also excellent. Makes you feel at home instantaneously
The atmospheric Peranakan décor did impress my overseas guest but the food was not out of the ordinary considering the lofty price. And the portions were small too.
First time for this restaurant and kitchen so we tried the menu. Small portions but in total it was enough. Good taste and balance between chili and other here's. Nice place to be
Plus: Delicious Peranakan-cuisine. Tastes like home-made, familiar, grandmother-cooked. I really would like to taste their dishes again. Directly next to the Peranakan museum: so you could combine both visits to a Peranakan-something. Minus: The rest of the experience is unfortunately also unlike a restaurant. The service is making an effort, but doesn't act professionally. The interior has come in the years and gives the impression of sitting amidst a flea market. The architecture itself is nice: old shophouse-style.
Lovely friendly restaurant with delicious nonya food. We will definitely come back again for more. The spicy pineapple gravy fish was yummy! Beautiful surroundings too!
The food was great, but the service was very mechanical. Made us feel we were part of a money-making production line. No sophistication at all.
We enjoyed our night at true blue immensely. We were greeted ,seated and treated promptly and given an excellent friendly and humorous run down about the food and suggested choices. There was no coercion into specific dishes or drinks and with the collaboration with of our waiter our dishes were memorable and mouth watering .Starting with the pickles and prawn crackers, cleansing tea followed by a tasty king prawn curry and chicken and black nut with a delicious gravy
The food was really good although the beef rendang was slightly tough. Also, no taking away was allowed which was quite a bummer as we ordered too much that day. The food were also a lot more expensive than other Peranakan food outside and also in very small portions.
Good service and excellent food! I will definitely come back for more
Lovely classic Peranakan house, brings you back in time. Food was ok - liked the Kueh Pie Ti, ayam buah keluak, chap chye, bakwan kepiting; though can be pricey (e.g. keropok and sambal are chargeable per serving).
