Shinya Izakaya

A really authentic Japanese shop in Heart of Singapore! The atmosphere feels just like being in Japan, and the food are genuine and well-curated. Staff are friendly and helpful, and you can tell they really care about quality. Definitely worth visiting.

Very interesting place; both Chinese and Izakaya items can be ordered, as both businesses have the same owner. Even Indian food can be ordered from a neighbouring restaurant, as we had an Indian dish mistakenly sent to us! The food was tasty and service was good and sincere, with servers patiently explaining the prices and portions. And yes, the Myanmarese service staff mentioned in the review below was very patient and helpful; she was knowledgeable about all the dishes and even explained to us the different sake options, well done to her.

Quite happy with the service and Myanmar waitress had an exceptional service and altitude. After the dinner, we had free dessert which was the most delicious one I have ever tried.

Decent price and food was ok for the price. Servers were overly enthusiastic with clearing plates off tables that it was borderline intrusive to our dinner though- it’s ok to do it discretely or when it’s super obvious the plate is empty.. However, the constant hovering by the table and asking if they can clear is so unnecessary and disruptive. Understand they were doing their jobs but just a little tact would offer diners more privacy and peace. Chicken was undercooked but they were prompt to waive this off the bill. Not too bad, but could be better.

It was our first time in this restaurant as it operated till 2am. We only ordered 2 stick of Yakitori to try . But it was very salty so we decided to inform the female staff. She was kind enough to waived off the food charges.
