Food was not really tasty. It's not really authentic tapas food. It's also a bit frustrating when I called in to the eatery. The background noise was so bad that I could not hear the receptionist/waitress and when I told her nicely that it was difficult for customers to hear/speak to them due to the noise, all she said was "We cannot do anything about it when it's crowded and noisy." :\

Staff was friendly and attentive. The decor for the Scissors Paper Stove was lovely. Good amount of choices for tapas and the food is made to perfection.

Brightly rainbow coloured cafe that was not overly crowded with a very homely atmosphere. Went with a group of friends and was able to try a wide variety of dishes. For the mains we had the beef cheek, the spring chicken, the pork ribs and the paella. The beef cheek was excellent, and was our top favourite main, being fork tender and braised really well and the accompanying mash holding its own against its beefy counterpart as well. The spring chicken came crisp and was sufficiently moist with a good accompanying sambal dip and a base of thai sweet chilli sauce underneath the addictive bed of fries. Pork ribs were fall off the bone tender and the marination was good, where we could taste it up till the inner parts of the meat near the bones. The only main we didn't enjoy was the paella, the stock used gave it a sour tinge and it did not taste like the traditional kind you would get at a Spanish restaurant. We also shared 4 tapas amongst us, and the variety we ordered were lamb kebabs, prawns, beef skewers and the calamari. The lamb kekbab truly outshoned the rest of the tapas, being tender and juicy, and the flavours really invoked Middle eastern cuisine vibes. Coming a close second was the plump prawns basted in a savoury garlic sauce which was a great accompaniment with the salad as well. Beef skewers came out more like beef meatballs on lemongrass and was decent. Calamari unfortunately could use a little more salt in its batter as it was pretty tasteless with only the harissa mayonaise dip barely saving it. All in all a quaint cafe with decent and affordable food, plus the servers were attentive and friendly enough despite the eatery not charging service charge.
