SBCD Korean Tofu House - Alexandra Retail Centre

I recently visited SBCD Korean Tofu House @ Alexandra Retail Centre, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience worth sharing. Tucked into the Alexandra Retail Centre, the restaurant’s decor impressed me right upon entry. With its clean, minimalist aesthetic earthy tones, warm lighting, and generous spacing between tables the environment felt modern, inviting, and surprisingly peaceful for a busy mall location. The overall vibe made it a perfect venue for both casual meals and small gatherings. I tried their Assorted Soontofu—a medley of beef, crab, shrimp, clam, and squid nestled in a steaming hot silken tofu broth. The tofu was ultra-smooth and fresh, made daily from Paju soybeans (a signature approach of theirs). The broth, seasoned to perfection with their 10-ingredient secret recipe, hit the sweet spot, not overly salty, but deeply flavorful and comforting. The spiciness could be tailored to your preference, a nice touch for those sensitive to heat. The hot stone rice served alongside added a lovely textural contrast. It was piping hot, fragrant, with just enough crisp at the base. Complemented by refillable side dishes including kimchi, seaweed, and a rather memorable crispy yellow-tail fish, the variety kept each bite interesting. Service was generally smooth and efficient. We were seated promptly, and staff checked in at appropriate intervals. Though occasionally the staff seemed a bit rushed during peak hours, the overall hospitality was solid especially considering how busy the place was The food quality and thoughtful preparation made the experience feel justified, even if the prices are on the higher side of mid-range. A hearty tofu stew with generous seafood and prime ingredients felt worth the splurge. Several dishes, like the LA Galbi combo, are priced steeply but said to be substantial and well-executed   . SBCD at Alexandra is a solid choice if you’re craving authentic, comforting Korean soontofu in a comfy, modern setting. The handmade silken tofu and soulful broth elevate the meal. Sure, prices aren’t bargain-level, and service can be slightly stretched during rushes but overall, it’s a satisfying, memorable dining experience. I’ll definitely return to explore their LA Galbi and more tofu combos!

Really tasty Korean tofu soup! Warm, spicy, and full of flavor. The tofu was super soft and the soup was comforting. Loved it!

Ordered cockles bimbimbap. However the rice from the stone rice is too hard for eating with the cockles after mixing them together. The taste of the cockles does not stand out.

Wish staff wud give more time when serving. Not just "dump" the food on the table and leave to re-arrange the table do that we cud eat in comfort. Guess the staff are busy. 😄

Service smooth and efficient as always. Only unsatisfactory item was the yellow- tail fish which is usually a highlight but was so badly fried that it was not crispy but oil-soaked. All three fish served had the same problem. exchanged one, asked for it to be refried but still the same issue. The kitchen needs to review the cooking technique.
