Going back to origins, the restaurant serves creative and yet basic food which is comforting. A must try was the vegetarian stews.
Food ok, atmosphere ok. Generally acceptable. Noise level is also within expectation
Quiet and cosy place to chill and relax with friends
Cosy place with comfort food and drink. Nice for a place to chill.
Convenient to get to, great recommendation by staff, affordable prices for excellent quality! Will definitely return!
Came here with my friends on a Wednesday night - this place is a little hard to find with the tiny sign! We ordered the crabmeat pasta and the smoked duck linguine - both were fantastic, although I preferred the crabmeat pasta. The sweet potato fries were good but a little overpriced at $15. We also tried the truffled egg thingy which was good, if a little too creamy. Overall, with the Entertainer 1-1 promotion, we only paid $37 among the three of us.
Amazing food and service. I loved everything about that quaint hidden joint. Perfect place to rewind and indulge. I highly recommend the soups and duck truffle pasta!
Inconvenient location with terrible traffic jam and parking problems. Extremely limited menu and didn't like the music. Staff were friendly enough but the location is simply terrible. I will not revisit.
Awesome Shiraz ($88)! Helpful and sweet waitresses. Food was ok, quite heavy. Nice chill vibes in the middle of little India, picked up some rare purple spinach and dessicated coconut on the way :)
Food was good , the customer service was good too; loved the crab spaghetti and I will definitely go back there again with my other friends
Ordered pastas, tastefully done and big enough portions. Affordable western cuisine. Chill atmosphere and peaceful even for a half full evening. Has a bar serving most types of drinks. No pressure to leave after done with dinner, had a great long chat over drinks.
cosy and fun atmosphere for all really enjoyed my time there and service was excellent would recommend this place especially for larger groups of people
Very nice cozy restaurant with much better food than we had expected. Service was also excellent. We especially enjoyed classic menu choices like mushroom soup, done to perfection.
Service was great! The food was amazing and reasonably priced. Had brunch there and would definitely return to try the lunch menu and delicious drinks
Good food and cozy ambience. Hidden gem in Little India!
The introduction is true. I loved the food (ocean crab pasta) and rustic ambience so it is something I will come back for. At net prices, the service has been excellent, better than some that charge you GST, service charges and with more staff but yet, the service has been nowhere near the one I enjoyed tonight. This is a hidden gem I would say.
The cafe was quite quiet when I was there on a Wednesday night, which I thought was quite lovely for a relaxing dinner. We tried the porcini risotto and absolutely loved it; very generous with the mushroooms and very flavorful. Fans of mushrooms and truffle should give this a shot! It was a surprise for us given that it hasnt been easy finding nice risottos in SG. We also tried the London Broil (beef), it was okay but not particularly impressionable. We thought the prices were reasonable and liked the service too.
It was a good experience with my family, they were receptive to my requests. My mum had her birthday and they were thoughtful to arrange her to sit at somewhere where she can't see the surprise cake! Was really thoughtful and nice.
The food is pretty good, especially the london broil and banana bread pudding. However the rest of the mains were surprisingly ordinary, I got sick of the ocean pasta after a few mouths. The service is good though, pleasant staffs
Good value for money, loved the risotto. Quite peacefully quiet when I went
Cosy and peaceful ambiance; ideal for brunch and dinner with friends and family. Roots Kitchen Bar is just 6 minutes walk away from Rochor MRT station.
The place has a very nice ambience. When we went during lunch the place was nkt crowded so it was very conducive. Despite the lack of crowd the food wad good. We ate the sweet potato fries and English breakfast.
Enjoyed this place so much that we stayed all night from Happy Hour. Good food, cozy ambience and attentive staff to our party of six. We found out about this place from the review in The Business Times and ordered the beef on BT's recommendation. Definitely something to order again!
Good service and price is value for money. Ambience is good, if u like hipster and cozy decor, you would like this place. Near Rochor mrt.
Food was good as usual... Love the mushroom and tomato soups! Service staff were good and attentive. Go for the set meal - value for money!
Service is fantastic, the staff where very friendly. The carbonara and beer was delicious too. Great ambience for a after work chilling session. Will come back again.
Was kind of disappointed with the food. Order the Nagano Pork Rack, it was so so. The crab pasta was so dried. Will not return again
1 for ambience, 1 for service, 1 for creativity. The other 3 i did not give points for are (small) food portions, expensive and inaccessibility.
Excellent food in a unique location! A hidden gem, I highly recommend this restaurant! I had a lovely steak dish and my partner had the crab. Superb !
The restaurant ambience was really great! Great music, great staff and really good food! Would go there to eat again sometime with my friends soon!
Excellent food, coffee and service. The omelette and the pasta was delicious. I need to go back to taste some of the other choices on the menu.
Warm and cosy...staff were attentive and very friendly. Prices were reasonable and food were nice. Perfect place for couples and family gatherings. Definitely worth going back.
Love the interior! Dessert is awesome! Less crowd and I love it! Would definitely visit again.
We had a delicious meal, great service and relaxing atmosphere. Not at all expensive for the quality of food and service you get. A great way to end our sunday evening. We will certainly come back.
Good food, good ambiance, excellent and friendly service throughout. Highly recommended dining and chill out place for all kinds of occasion. Will return again in the future.
We are happy with our dinning there . However, if the menu should have more varieties would be even better. The set is not really value for $$. Sharing the Ala Cart is better.
The service was excellent. We enjoyed the food and coffee very much. I will definitely recommend this hidden gem to my fiends. The dining experience was incredibly awesome.
Another fabulous evening... this time my dining partner and I were not sharing the crab pasta! Yes, we were craving for it since our first trip to Roots and decided to have our own plates of the pasta to satisfy our cravings... and we love the sweet potato fries too! great manageable portion for 2 pax and we ended up feeling 'belly' good! Wonderful service with lots of initiative fr the crew too!
Great food, good price and pleasant service! Two thumbs up!
Great experience at Roots Kitchen Bar. Friendly staff and they're always so friendly, so initiative to help with the menu as well. would definitely go again some day. Food and drinks are great too!(:
Roots Kitchen and Bar is a delightful dining experience. Soothing ambience, attentive and cheerful waiting service and gorgeously scrumptious Italian delights. Had a party of 14 and it truly did not disappoint! 10/10 will go there again for my birthday party next year :p
Decent quality, but there were too little choices. Food took pretty long to come but the egg and mousseline topped with caviar was a must try!! Skip the crab pasta if you'd like, it gets a little sick if you're eating it alone.
Awesome place! Staff were really helpful and most of all the food was very good. All the guests found that there was very good value for money here. Also, the decor is gorgeous. A real gem that you wouldn't imagine on Little India's bustling Dickson Road.
The restaurant's ambience was rustic and cosy. For starters, I had the egg & truffle mousseline and for mains, the Nagano pork rack. Both dishes were pretty delish, although the pork was a tad bit too salty for my liking.
Both service and food were excellent! Egg & Truffle Mousseline was awesome. Truffle lovers must try it!
A gem in little Indian with fantastic ambience with great food! It's my second visit to this cafe and will definitely be back for more
good atmosphere! food is pretty good too! nice and quite ambience to have nice conversation with friends. Recommend to order their signature fries and salad!
Have some difficulty in locating it when we visited it for the first time. When arrived, we were greeted by friendly crew and they showed us to our the reseved table. Food wise, there is still room for improvement. We ordered 3 main dishes & Sea Bass was the best. Followed by the Crab Spaghetti. Last in the list was London Boiled... was kind of disappointed. Maybe the expectation was too high.
nice atmosphere. quiet. good service. good desserts. affordable drinks. good selection of wine
Thanks to the entertainer app, I managed to enjoy 2 main courses at the price of 1! Ordered the eggs benedict & caviar and mushroom porcini rice (mushroom risotto) to share with my dining partner. The risotto was rich and flavourful, with a generous portion of mushrooms, with a grainy texture. The eggs benedict fared medicore IMO, though the poached egg won hands down with a super flowy, soft and fragile yolk. The creamy hollandaise sauce was also thick, rich and flavourful. Waffles was crispy but I would have preferred a more fluffy, dense and cake-like interior instead of a hollow and light one. Service was friendly and attentive, with the constant refill of water.
