Ootoya - Orchard Central

I like the ambience and the cleanliness of the restaurant. The staff were knowledgeable and polite. They were always around so my requests were met promptly. I also love the soft and smooth toufu in my salad. Yummy! ;)

It was my first trip to Ootoya Orchard Central. The ambience was ok, except that it was a bit warm where my friend and i were sitting. The food overall was healthy and fresh. Chawanmushi taste was something we could not accept.

The quality of the food is slightly different compare to the branch that they open in clementi. The clementi branch is nicer than the orchard central one.

Nice authentic jap food. Staff are friendly. They have private seating area as well as public area where u get to sit with ur legs tucking underfloor

Great quiet little restaurant in the middle of the city!

They no longer serve seaweed rice.... :( Other than that food is good, service is ok. Ambiance a bit noisy perhaps due to the enclosed area by glass...

Food was served within acceptable time. Food quality was normal. There's lack of manpower that no obe serves us when we required assistance. Overall, visit was normal only.

Yummy food... Love the green tea ice cream. The pork belly is very fragrant and cooked just nice. Would definitely bring my friends for a meal here.

Healthy, delicious comfort Japanese food! Especially love the Gokaku rice that comes with the grilled fish sets. Definitely a good choice when one feel like having a virtuous meal.

Good family option for an authentic Japanese meal at good value. A little hard getting service staff attention if you're sitting in a corner so be prepared to wait for service or work to get attention. Misoton is my all time favorite although food quality seems a tad better at Changi outlet.

We ordered the misoton & kasan for mains, zenzai milk glutinous rice dumpling with vanilla ice cream & red beans for desert & soya bean milk for drink. The food quality is generally consistent with other visits. I like that they are now offering more rice options such as rice with vege for a healthier option. Service was slower but perhaps because it was peak timing.

Prompt service due to smart design of the restaurant. Nice menu, I tried the soba and green tea ice cream with red beans. Good atmosphere for small groups. Overall recommended.

Food portion is just nice. But Slightly longer waiting time for the food. Service is good. Food taste is ok. Overall rating is slight above average.

With the reservation, we didn't have to wait long for a table. We had dessert (warabi mochi with ice cream/ mochi ball with red beans, matcha jelly & ice cream). Also ordered a soya bean milk with brown sugar syrup

Good food and polite service but serving a bit slow. Therefore good if you are patient or can wait bit. Convenient location and good ambience.

Good service,good food,although the lighting makes the seat area quite hot. Price is higher, but the quality of food is there. Healthier choice where five grains rice available.

Seevice was good and quite fast. Server forgot the brown rice but was quick to replace the white rice with brown rice. Food was good.

Great food and service even though it got very busy. Reservations a good idea but only up to 630pm on Fridays. We were a party of 4 and given a nice quiet table inside. Took some time to decide in our order because everything looked good, and did not disappoint. Particularly good was the grilled yellowtail fish cheeks. The grilled beef was overdone, therefore tough but tasty. The rest is us had the rosu which was delicious

Found the serving getting small. Place a bit under staffed. Kitchen changed a dish for us when it was not to our liking. Our table was a bit noisy due to the layout of the restaurant.

Kitchen service is fast. Staff needs to pay attention to customers sitting at the far corner as it is difficult to get eye contact to get staff to attend to them.

Very nice place for gathering, food menu are good . One thing is there is some smell on the seating place when I was there. It was from the seating mat. Need to take note on this.

Food tastes great but service was a bit slow. Loves the hot udon as usual. Enjoyed the food there. Hope for slightly faster service. We had to wait for quite long for our water to be topped up or served

Not crowded when we arrived, tatami experience was a plus! Good for quiet gatherings. Great selection of food as well, not the most value for money jap restaurant around though.

Nice food and service. The grilled pork and beef are especially good and I would highly recommend. Would be going back again soon in the near future.

Food is nice. Quiet environment. A good place for gathering. Able to alow big group of ppl from 8 paxs onwards to sit together. Very hard to find a place like this

Service was prompt & all of the staff we met were friendly & warm. We were greeted when we entered the shop & while leaving. We ordered from the lunch menu which was decently priced & yummy!

Serves good food at good prices; with a homely and authentic jap ambience. Been back several times. Will definitely be back! Recommended to come with family and friends

The place was a little warm for me and the food was just mediocre; probably expected too much before visiting. Felt that it was a little over rated.

Always love and enjoy the wholesome food! Service was great and prompt. Reasonable price. One of my favourite Japanese restaurant offering good value home cook Japanese cuisine.

Food was fresh, good and tasty. However service was not that great as had to remind staff twice to serve my first order of drinks.
