Restuarant was not busy when we visited on a Saturday afternoon and we didn’t have to wait long for the food to be served. Been here previously, food portion was reasonable and quality was good. Service of staff acceptable.

Greeted and welcomed almost immediately upon arrival. we had the miso udon hotpot for 2 set. it was almost too much and too good, great quality ingredients and very good quality.

Made reservation at 6.30pm but staff was so tied up with existing customers, and so many people queuing up, so ended up joining the queue, and only until 7pm then we get to be seated (as if we had no reservation). Food portion gets smaller and smaller each time we visit Ootoya. Very disappointed. Not worth the price on menu anymore.

sashimi was not fresh but staff manage to change to a portion which doesn't smell that bad. hope they can improve sashimi quality.

Food is better than last time ordered. Free flow rice now limited to 1 refill. Overall service is ok.

tonkatsu meat has a sour taste and meat texture is disppointing. pork belly meat is also not up to standard (last time order is very nice, now not nice). staff not very friendly, service can be improved. last time have free flow rice refill but now restrict to 1 time refill only. abit disappointed.

Value for money meal sets. I like it they have healthy choices but was disappointed with the taste and ingredients used. While the soup is miso, the dish is very Chinese styled instead of Japanese.

If you are looking for an authentic Japanese cuisine, this is the place to go! Fresh ingredients and dishes are (almost) cooked to perfection!

My friends and I enjoyed the food except that the chawanmushi and miso soup are too salty. It is a nice place and I will recommend it to my friends.

Nice and boutique restaurant serving home cooked Japanese food. Always my favourite for something light and soupy, not so heavy stuff. Highly recommended. Reservation is recommended as the restaurant is not so big.

The food is excellent! Good quality, great taste! Glad that we didn't have to queue since reservation has been made :) Service was prompt. Nice cozy ambience; not too noisy. Great for families and small group gatherings. My friends an I enjoyed ourselves thoroughly over the food and company. Will definitely be back!
