Hopscotch - Gardens by the Bay

Nice ambience in the midst of Gardens by the Bay. Not too far from busy MBS and value for money lunch menu.

Very nice place. Lunch special is so worth it! Recommended!

Went there for dinner, we had a little trouble trying to the find the had a window table looking into the pond. I think day time view and lighting will be better. Food is decent. It was quiet for. Friday evening

Food was delicious and service was good. Had a great time.

Service was nice and food quality was good, but we ordered two starters and two main dishes one of them with a side. One starter came, then the side, then the other starter and when we were still eating the starters, the mains came. That's bad planning of the kitchen and also the wasn't any space at the table for all the dishes.

Service was a tad slow because of PH but food was still decent. I imagine it would be much more pleasant during an off peak period. A well located restaurant to dine at when at the gardens.

Average, nice staff, food ok, we ask for a few more crackers on cheese board .. extra charge!

We ordered the lunch sets which were real value for money. Food, service and ambience were great. We will definitely be back to try the other dishes.

Food was dry barely warm and batter on fish inedible.Manager did nothing when we complained.

Awful experience. We requested a table with a view of the garden in our reservation. It was Christmas Day. When we arrived, staff treated us like any walk-in customers and could not find our reservation. When they did find it, we were ushered to a table that was not ready. So clearly, no reservation was made (was it because we were 15 minutes late, and our reservation was cancelled??) There was a drinks menu, a set lunch menu and a special Christmas menu. Being Christmas, we decided to order from the Christmas menu but there was no starter nor desserts on the Christmas menu. The staff member struggled to explain and show me where are the starters and desserts on the Christmas menu, and appeared to be telling me to order the set lunch as he was unsure what to do if a customer does not order the set lunch I realised we could not understand each other as he could hardly speak any English When I asked him about portions sizes, we both had to resort to sign language I shooed him away and asked a waitress to take my order instead. She spoke English but was a little hesitant or shy, and likewise struggled to explain anything. She told us to order dessert then as the kitchen was closing (just as we arrived???) I decided not to order any drinks. Staff could not explain anything, let alone answer any questions I have. Finally a manager appeared and apologised on behalf of her staff, and suggested we cancel a dessert order seeing that we are a small party who may have ordered too much food. The manager spoke confidently When the main courses arrived, we still ordered too much food. Even with sign language, staff could not indicate correct portion size to me. Midway through our late lunch, the cafe emptied and staff started cleaning up while we were still eating. Not only did this create an unpleasant environment for lunch, we could not get any attention since staff was busy cleaning up. When we finished our meals, staff was still cleaning up, and continued to ignore us to the extent that we are able to leave the restaurant without paying! I turned around and entered the restaurant again, only to be greeted by another staff who could not understand me as I said “where is my bill?” Her response was “sorry?” Hopscotch is not a cafe nor a restaurant nor a bar?? Is it a canteen or a food court with no table service? It was a mistake on my part to think Hopscotch could be a restaurant with a nice garden view to celebrate Christmas or any special event. It serves set lunch just like a staff canteen does. Since we ordered too much food (from staff who cannot speak English), we had to take it away. Not only did we have an awful Christmas Day lunch, we are paying to have leftovers the next day too

Nice place for gathering but noise can be a little to load so ended up having to speak louder contributing to the noise too

The food was great! But the service (from the guys) were bad. 1 male waiter refused to attend to us. The other waiter would lift chairs above our heads. Almost knocking into my son’s head. But the 2 female waitresses who attended to us were lovely! Apologising for the slow service and not serving us water and cutleries.

You’ll need to park at Bayfront to get here as it is nearest to the mrt entrance area. Overall a pleasant vibe and environment though food was ok

I think taste, service and network needs abit of improvement to make the place even uplifted.

If steak was served in hot plate would be better

it was crowded but the mood is pretty good, my truffle fries came hot and cripsy even thoo it took awhile due to the crowd. drinks were pretty good, love the unique vessels that was used 😆

They missed 2 of our orders and only realised after we checked multiple times.

The food was flavourful and atmosphere was quiet and serene with the garden view. We are a family of 6 and enjoyed our time there.

Extremely slow service, they forgot one of our plates and while waiting for it they asked us if we would like the dessert first . I thin they were on a rush as they were closing,…

The pork rib was undercooked, however the staff insisted it was cooked at a temperature more than 16 hrs. Pasta was not flavourful enough. Overall food quality was mot worth the price

Lovely ambience but tough to locate. The website was helpful with the navigations shared so follow accordingly and you won't get lost! Service staff was fantastic, we were here to celebrate a friend's birthday
