We are not serve until we go over to the counter and request. Without asking they only provide us with the limited for Groupon voucher customer order list. Upon request after explaining than they allow us to order other food from the menu.
I bought the set lunch groupon voucher. For $14.90, you had a choice of 1 of 3 appetisers - 1 samosa, 2 pieces of bruschetta or 4 mid-joint wings, a main of either sirloin steak with fries, grilled salmon with mash potato or chicken tikka wakhanwala with rice and a slice of mango passion cake. Cali Café is located in the Park Avenue Rochester. On a weekday afternoon, it was a quaint little restaurant that could easily be passed by without people noticing it. It seems like a nice, quiet and comfortable place to sit and chill with your colleagues over a beer after a long day’s work if you happen to work in the area. We ordered the wings, bruschetta, salmon and steak. The bruschetta served consisted of 2 slices topped with diced tomato and cucumber. Nothing out of the ordinary but quite palatable. The wings were served crispy and hot, just the way fried wings should be. The salmon was served with some boiled vegetable and quite a generous serving of mashed potato. The filet of salmon was very big and thick. It was moist and nicely seasoned with the skin cooked to crispy perfection. The steak had a nice colour all around and while it could have been a little more tender, it did taste nice and juicy with the accompanying layer of fat. The mushroom sauce had pretty big visible pieces of sautéed onions and mushrooms and complemented the steak well. By the time we reached dessert, we were already quite full so we were quite glad to see that the slice of cake was just a small square piece drizzled with chocolate and strawberry sauce. The cake was probably just taken out of the freezer as the middle layer of mango passion mousse was rock hard. It tasted all right but the texture of the cake was just rock solid.
I had a set dinner meal with 4 pieces chicken wings a steak with fries and sago dessert (u may choose other options). Foods generally good portions not too small but I found a small piece of foreign material (not sure what it is looks like a wire piece) in the side salad with the steak. Unfortunately I put it in my mouth but did not swallow it but felt disgusted since not sure if it was clean and where did it come from. Kitchen can be more careful of their hygiene standard.
Not great but not bad. Service and food were average, not quite worth the prices. Had the steak, which had an oddly processed texture, and the iced mocha which was too sweet. The wings were very well-seasoned, though, despite their unremarkable appearance. Ambiance is nice enough during off-peak hours.
Good food and the service was great! We had the cali wings, steak and passion fruit cake set which was really value for money. Enjoyed my experience there.
Food was decent. Had to set through Groupon offer. Was of good value. Wine was of great value @ $20 per bottle. Will definitely go back.
Used Groupon voucher and the 3 course meal was good value for money. Disappointed with Portobello mushroom (apetitiser) which was a miserable-looking overcooked item and a ripoff at $12. Minimum service in a cafe-styled ambience, lest inviting for a second visit...
Had dessert there, and the tiramisu cake was so tasty! portion size was value for your money.
Went on a Friday night, the cafe is quiet with a few diners. The menu price for food and drinks are over-rated. We can get bigger food portion at lower/same price elsewhere. Not recommend to go.
Food is not bad and it is very reasonably priced! Nice ambience in the cafe too
I ordered the Prawns & asparagus oglio olio , it was the best I ever eat ..prawns was generous and healthy too..am going back again on 29/11 to celebrate my girlfriend birthday😍
Great service with awesome food ... Definayrly will keep coming again and again
The second visit in two days for brunch, taking advantage of an AMEX discount. Again, nothing to shout about but not disappointed either. Not sure if will visit after the promotion ends.
Nothing outstanding. But it's a solid place for a quick lunch. Worth a visit with the AMEX 50% discount at that time. Now I'm not so sure.
A nice restaurant close to work. the outdoor seating area is lovely. A little pricey compared to the restaurants nearby. service was a little slow, but the delicious food compensated the wait.
food is quite expensive, personally felt that the competitive price point was simply missing. Atmosphere wise is rather quiet, and with the fast and free wifi, provided one day of quiet working for me.
Over all the food are ok, in my opinion, the price for the food consider high ... still acceptable with discount.
food was delicious and the ambience was nice. restaurant is located at a very quiet area and easily accessible. just a short walk from the MRT station
