A city of history: enjoy Winchester restaurants. If you're looking for a weekend break or day trip destination, Winchester is an excellent choice. Located on the edge of Hampshire alongside the famous South Downs National Park, the city is particularly famous for its Cathedral, a fine surviving medieval church featuring a Norman crypt, the city Bible and a seventeenth-century library amongst other historic artefacts. It’s a great destination for history lovers in general, with the City Mill – dating from the 18th century and still functioning today – and Wolvesey Castle ruins nearby. You can also see King Arthur's round table at the Great Hall in Winchester castle. When you've finished your sightseeing, there are plenty of great restaurants in Winchester to enjoy, too!
