Excellent value for the lunch set. Very attentive service. Spacious dining area. Amazing food that is nicely presented. I definitely recommend this one star Michelin restaurant.

Excellent restaurant with impeccable service. Tastes are well balanced and not overpowering yet intriguing. Wine menu and recommendations are extensive and spot on. Cozy place with few tables with a view into the kitchen.
Great and attentive service, fabulous presentation and delicious food. Great value meal for a 1-star restaurant. I would like to re-visit, great ambience for business lunch.
In one word, our experience at Rhubarb Le Restaurant was "grey", like the dominant color of the interior. My wife and I spent a Saturday night at this small restaurant on Duxton Hill. We had the 6-course pre-set menu and a bottle of wine. The food was average for an upscale French restaurant and lacked any "wow" factor. The combination of ingredients was creative, but not a good match in some cases. For example, we did not find that pomegranate is a good partner for pork fillet. The service started well, but seemed to be overwhelmed when the restaurant filled up. The first courses were served at a good rhythm, but the delivery slowed down after the appetizers. We do like our breaks, but 45 minutes wait between courses is a bit too long. When we reminded the waiter that we wanted to go faster, he rushed through the rest of the menu and did not even offer the (optional) cheese platter. We ended up spending 3 hours for the 6 courses, and although the restaurant has only 7 tables, the waiters never had a personal word. The focus seemed to be on other repetitive customers. The wine list is dominated by expensive french wines, but there were a few affordable wines from other geographies. The ambiance at the restaurant could be enhanced with better lighting or simply a candle on the table. Overall, we were disappointed with Rhubarb Le Restaurant.
This restaurant is amazing! I took my husband here for a romantic meal to celebrate his birthday and we were both very impressed. For starters, the setting is exquisite and although the restaurant itself is small, you get a real sense of space as there are only 7 tables. The space is also semi-open with the kitchen which I always like. We decided to go for the tasting menu which was absolutely delicious. There was the just the right combination of classic and more challenging flavour combinations - all of which worked extremely well. The wine selection was great too, with some good, reasonably (for Singapore) priced bottles. The service here was outstanding and the staff were very warm and friendly. We spent a lot of time talking to the Manager Jerome who was very hands on to make sure you were getting the best experience. Our server (I'm afraid I can't remember her name) was also lovely and obviously very knowledgeable about the menu. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant - we've already told our friends that they need to check this place out next time they want to go for a special dinner/treat. Considering the quality of the food, ambience and staff I think this restaurant is very reasonably priced and look forward to having an excuse to go back again! Thank you guys for such a lovely evening.
From the moment we arrived Ellie our waitress and Jerome our host immediately made us feel at home. The ambiance is calm, the decor is simple clean lines with a cool Color palate. Chef Paul and his team proceeded to wow us with the flavors and exquisite presentation. Jerome was very helpful with the wine list, suggested a couple of gorgeous wines and was not pushy at all. Had two very nice glasses of wine with dinner per Jerome's recommendations and was very happy indeed. Chef Paul was not only charming but also had a great sense of humor. He brought a few of our dishes to the table himself which made for a very nice personal touch. Ellie was incredible! Very sweet, knowledgeable and put us both at ease immediately so we surrendered to the experience and went with her suggestion to try le menu. They did not disappoint one bit! The smoked chestnut & mushroom emulsion with black truffle was sublime and the Wagyu simply melted in my mouth. Enough said...our first time and certainly not our last. Thank you Chef Paul, Jerome and the lovely Ellie for making our first time dinning at Rhubarb Le such a memorable experience.
From the moment I entered the restaurant everyone at Rhubarb was very friendly and welcoming. I had read many of the reviews and I was determined to try the food for myself. I decided to go for the Chef's special lunch menu and for the next hour I was treated to a culinary masterclass: 1. Emulsion - Jerusalem artichoke, peas, broad beans, verbena 2. Tuna marinated in Rhubarb 3. Pigeon breast & confit leg, rhubarb & rose puree, grapes ‘a la Aussignac’ 4. Strawberry Fromage blanc, jelly, pistachio, olive oil cake, nata de coco Each dish was explained to me by the helpful staff and the chef even came over to explain one of his new dishes (tuna marinated in rhubarb). Every dish tasted as good as it looked and I left feeling very satisfied. What I liked about it the most - The food and the friendly atmosphere. What I liked about it the least - I wish they had a restaurant in Japan (where I live). Note: This is not really a restaurant for children. Leave them at home with a babysitter and enjoy the time with your loved one!
We have loved Rhubarb in the past, but fear that maybe they are too popular now that they have a Michelin star and the kitchen is overworked. We felt the food was not as well executed as it was before. Salmon cone amuse bouche was excellent. The roast veal was nice but braised veal was hard and disappointing. Smoked hay ice cream was not as delicate- tasted like bacon. Pigeon was good, not great. Lychee jelly sweet was a burst of intense flavor but the dry coconut on the outside was like sawdust. Service was good and attentive but not as warm and personal as in the past. I do hope they can keep up their previously excellent standard despite their new fame. Sad to say we were a bit disappointed this time, but that is also because we had high expectations based on previous meals there. Not sure whether to give them a 4 or a 5. Should have been 6.
Food: awesome, especially the delicate presentation. Wine: waiter gave a good recommendation on white wine. Service: they confirm again with me on the morning of the dining day; waiters are always around to serve during dining time, and give brief intro for every course. The atmosphere is a bit formal and business, not as relaxed as I thought. Things can be improved: If the waiter or chef can come and ask/greeting in the end of the whole dining, that'll be perfect. The kitchen is an open style, which is very nice to look at. But a bit noisy if you sit at the closest table to it (as we do), and you can have some smell of it though not a bad one. Think if it's still an open style but with glass around? Overall the 3 courses set lunch is very much worth the money and recommend everyone go and have a try!
A very relax and cosy place for French cuisine fine dining. The foods are creative and delicious. The services are excellent under the care of Jerome and Francis. Chef Paul, being recently awarded a Michelin Star, may serve you dishes personally and you can see him enjoying and displaying his cooking skills with his crew members in the kitchen a short distance away. Prices are reasonable. Must try! I have made three visits already this year!
Had the Le Menu and it was a very well planned, high quality and finely balanced meal. Had the wines by the glass (Champagne & a white wine) which turned out to be very good. Overall a very good experience with the ambience very comfortable and tables nicely spaced. Very friendly chef and manager who was helpful and knowledgeable about the wines. Definitely one of the top French restaurants in Singapore.
I had planned for a wedding anniversary lunch for my parents at Rhubarb Le. Paul and Jerome were very accommodative and professional with my requests. My parents were very happy with the food and the fine touches of a surprise dessert for them to celebrate 41 years of marriage. Thank you to the team at Rhubarb Le for making it a memorable day on this special occasion for them.
A bit hard to find from MRT station however the small restaurant with the open kitchen had a lovely ambience and even more wonderful food. Service was not at all intrusive & the menu was explained when the meal arrived at the table. More than met our expectations. However paying $12 for a bottle of water was a bit of a shock but then again, this is Singapore. The intimate atmosphere (7 tables) makes it a perfect place for a date night.
I was unable to book dinner, and am in Singapore for only two more days, so we settled for lunch. However, upon enquiring whether the dinner menu was available for lunch, Paul agreed to do so! I felt grateful he accommodated our request as it was a very satisfying meal. That evening we couldn't eat till lat, so we didn't mind eating a heavier meal midday. Well done!
Have been here several times for the lunch prix fix menu. A fantastically economical deal for such wonderful food. If your guest is close enough to you that you can purposely order different items and then share, even better! The lunch prix fix is actually a bit higher than most other restaurants, but the extra say $10 is more than worth it for the calibre of food
Good lunch. Taste is rich and unique throughout all the "Surprise Menu". My fave is the quail. Portions are small but suffice for ladies like me, am not sure if the guys will find it too little though. All was well till a couple of guys started smoking at the table, just outside the restaurant. The cigarette and cigar smell wafted into the restaurant - very unpleasant. The restaurant manager tried to divert the smell by changing the swing of the air con away from us then we started to feel warm. So we quickly finish lunch and left.
We visited Rhubarb a year ago and we're worried that it might not be as good this time. It was even better. We had the tasting menu. It was unbelievably good. Extremely well constructed and thoughtful mixtures all of which looks stunning. The front of house/sommelier (Jerome?) was friendly and helpful without a hint of pretentiousness, as was our excellent waitress. Can't recommend it enough.
Beautiful food, the service was excellent, the staff know their food and menu well and very considerate of people with specific diet requirements. Very intimate setting that works for small groups and couples. lovely to go to a restaurant where the staff have time for you throughout the meal. Very well priced food and wine for a fine dining experience in Singapore
Wonderful experience! We loved the delightful cloud-like texture of the mushroom-chestnut-truffle emulsion, the fondant of the foie gras beautifully paired with the crunchy strawberry vanilla bric, the Wagyu cooked to perfection, or the regressive combo of poached rhubarb in rose syrup with popping candy, rhubarb sorbet and creamy vanilla. Bref, it was awesome! Thanks Chef Paul and team for a delightful evening!
$45 lunch menu is excellent value for money. Food is well done and actually fairly generous for the type of restaurant this is and dishes were well balanced and fresh. Décor is cozy and relaxing and temperature isn't too cold. Maître d' was very helpful and went out of his way to accommodate us. Certainly worthy of its Michelin star.
Rhubarb Le Restaurant exceeded our expectations. The staff were delightful, the food exceptional and the ambience was great. The 3 course set lunch was fabulous value. Highly recommend this venue.
Excellent. Food was delicious and servcie was meticulous. We took the 3-course lunch menu. The lady carefully explained to us of the ingredients in every dish. The head chef was so friendly that he personally served us the gravy for our main dishes and bid us good bye. It was worth our efforts to go there directly from the airport.
service is excellent in this small, cost restaurant with only seven tables. Overall, Sumptuous food and I love the foie gra. It is the best foie gra I had, nicely cooked, juicy in the inside yet crispy on the skin. The only dissatisfaction is the main course dory, which was overcooked and tasteless. One improvement is to cover up the open kitchen as the kitchen smoke could travel to the restaurant.
Excellent food and service. The servers were attentive without being obtrusive. The restaurant remembered that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and our petit fours were served on a dish that said "Joyeux anniversaire" or "Happy anniversary", in French. Chef himself came out to serve a few dishes. Reservations strongly recommended as there are only 8 tables.
It is a must try!! I will return for more meals at the Rhubard. The decor evoked a sense of calm and bliss, simple yet tasteful. Service was perfect and Paul popped by to chat. Food is stupendous and the presentation immaculate! We love the pigeon, the iberico pork, the scallop! Experience it for yourself!
We know the restaurant already. That is the reason, why we went there today. First we like how Jerome (the manager) treats us (like King and Queen), then we like the atmosphere, but best of all we like the composition of the food and the crazy ideas like fish and white chocolate....We come again
Fabulous food and excellent service. Jerome provided great advice and Paul took great pains to explain the dishes being served. Just keep an eye on the great wines on their list, too many to choose from and from great value wines to super treat double bonus lottery winner day ones, choose carefully
First time at Rhubarb for my wife's birthday and it was amazing. The service crews were friendly, the manager did make an effort to prepare a dessert plate for my wife's birthday, a very nice gesture. The overall food experience was amazing as well. Glad we chose this place for the celebration.
Truly French restaurant including the staff, excluding the chef of course who is British. Service & food are exceptional. Not cheap at S$138++ for the menu but worth every penny. Ambience is good - tables not too close together & there are only 7 in total. Definitely a special occasion restaurant.
Very quaint French restaurant in the Duxton neighbourhood that served authentic French cuisine. Thoroughly enjoyed the foie gras with daikon, and the tender wagyu that struck a fine balance between taste and texture. Service was prompt, non-intrusive and the maitre was knowledgeable and provided good recommendations on wine pairing. Overall it was a great experience and I'm definitely revisiting.
We had the tasting menu which was superb. The chef Paul came out and delivered most courses and took us through exactly what we were about to eat, which was a nice touch. The food is of Michelin star quality and for Singapore outstanding value. I throughly recommend it.
A most pleasant outing. Ambience and service were just right, nothing overdone or lacking. Emulsion starter and mains (quail for my wife and pigeon for me) were very good indeed... Fresh and high quality ingredients, treated with balance and finesse. Hats off to Chef Paul and team!
staff was friendly and attentive. food was tasty and not pretentious - i like how the the degustation menu does not have too many dishes but proper serving sizes for each dish, rather than trying to stretch it out by having too many small dishes in between
Wow.......just wow!! Absolutely amazing food. I had the foie gras followed by the wagyu and ending with the cheeses plate....heavenly. My missus had the beetroot, followed by the pigeon and then the rhubarb ....she ate in silence....now that is a first! Fab service too. We shall return....soon!
Exceptional experience. Pleasant ambiance (tables are not too close too each other), very attentive staff, but the highlight obviousy the quality of the dishes. Superb combination of flavour and texture,beautifully presented. The white onion wuth black truffle emulsion possibly the stand out dish. Will be back!
An excellent and cosy place. Food was exceptionally well prepare, service attentive, wine list impressive and on top of that it is great value for money. The only small imperfection is lunch starts at 12 noon, but you could only enter the resturant at 12.05pm.
Lovely place, excellent service and the food was a delight. Not within my normal budget range for a meal but definitely worth the splurge. Took care of my dad's dietary restrictions which was a very nice touch. Thanks for the wonderful experience guys :)
Nice fusion french cuisine with impressive food presentation and exquisite taste. Good for those who like to take photo of the foods. The waiter and waitress explained every dish upon serving. We opted for 3 courses set lunch. Price is definitely value for money. However, ala carte menu can be quite pricy.
The food was exquisite and service was impeccable! The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Only thing I did not like was that there was not any music, though it was not a problem. Quiet and slow music would have suited the restaurant perfectly.
It was my second time back there and it was just a great an experience as the first. The food was fantastic and the service was top notch. The head chef, Paul, even made time to send us off as we were leaving.
It is best ever meal experience i ever had in my entire life. The food is top class. And the service by the restaurant manager was simply divine. He make me feel happy and made my day. I will be back for sure.
Food is ok but not outstanding. The starters were better than the main courses. We ordered the Pigeon n Wagyu beef - below our expectations but service is fine though. Parking is always a problem as the nearest public car park is always full. It's alright for the pricing, just don't expect Odette or Sorrel quality if you have dined at these 2 restaurants.
a real one star michelin restaurant, the ambiance is perfect, the chef is outstanding, the team there is happy and makes you happy, all is absolutely perfect a place to go and go again for sure, perfect French cuisine a wonderful experience
Excellent experience , lovely ambiance, staff were really good fun and attentive and the food ,which is of course what you really come for , was innovative and absolutely delicious . Well done to the whole team. We will be back.
Fantastic service, a little bit pricey but still a fantastic meal. Would definitely come back here. I really like that it only has a limited amount of tables- has a very cost feel to it. A bit picky but didn't like the grey table decor. Looks a bit sterile.
The service are OK but not excellent. Ordered the Le Menu for both of us. The chef is kind enough to change the trout to quail for one of us since one of us doesn't eat fish. Unfortunately, one of the trout having a pin bone in it which shouldn't happen in Michelin Starred restaurant. They also mistakenly our main course and the chef refuse to take back the dish and force us to eat the dish. Of course the chef kind enough to make the main course we suppose to order and complimentary us to eat the mistakenly dish. However, forcing us to eat the mistaken dish and refuse to take back the dish is another inappropriate for Michelin Starred Restaurant.
Excellent food and service. Very special evening, one to be remembered for a very long time. So nice to have a meal that lasts the whole evening. Highly recommend Le Menu with expert advice from the staff on wine pairing.
Good set lunch for $42++ indeed live up to its name as a one starred Michelin restaurant. The foie gras and beef ribs were seasoned just right and the use of rhubarb is spot on as the name of the restaurant suggests. Love the cheese as well.
Great food, great cook! The chef is Briton but cook a French cuisine. Totally fabulous. The team is very warm and professional. I definitely recommend this restaurant and not only for special occasion. Looking forward to eating again there
