More about the restaurant: Witbier

The brewed-up brains behind Singapore’s Just Beers evidently have more than just beers up their sleeves. Okay, while the focus at Witbier Cafe is most certainly beer of the specialty, microbrewed, rare and unusual kind, they also have a few good bar bites on hand to keep the suds down. We’re talking traditional American fare like stupendous steaks, burgers, hot dogs, and pizza. Hungry as you may be, the main reason you’ll be booking a bar stool at this Kampong Glam watering hole down Kandahar Street is the chance to sample beers from around the world.

Thinking about making a Witbier booking?

Found in the heart of Singapore’s historic Kampong Glam and Arab Street district, Witbier Cafe is an outpost for lovers of good beer, solid meals, and all the best in live sports. Occupying two shophouses down Kandahar Street, Witbier Cafe is an unassuming local pub that boasts an incredible range of beers – over 30 imported varieties (European breweries predominate) are available by the bottle and the taps are reliably flowing with imperious German brews such as Paulaner, Furstenburg and Wunderbar.

Witbier Cafe also has a good selection of beer-drinking essentials: bar food like beef chilli cheese nachos and porky fries, and bigger dishes such as the grilled lamb rack, beef striploin steak, BBQ chicken wings with a homemade sambal sauce, and the very Singaporean otah bruschetta, layering Muar-style fish and coconutty otah atop toasted bruschetta. It may catch some by surprise, but this last dish pairs well with the famous Japanese craft beers from Hitachino! In fact, Witbier is known for its beer tasting and food events – just enquire next time you’re in looking for a refreshing brew or two in Kampong Glam.
