Whampoa Keng in Singapore is the first stop anyone should make for a taste of traditional Chinese/Singaporean cuisine. Starting as a small, humble family stall, they are now one of the premier traditional chinese restaurants in singapore, with locations based in Kalleng and the River Valleys. Once you find your way to the homely establishment on Killiney Road, you’re in for a cultural culinary experience with a wide ranging menu featuring old classics, and less known traditional dishes. However it would be a shame to come to Whampoa Keng and not sample some of the fresh seafood dishes that made them famous in the first place, like the Fish Head Steamboat, or any or their numerous fish dishes. You won’t be disappointed.
