Firstly, the location of the restaurant is not that easy to find. The receptionist seems to be quite new to the industry and seem to be a little blur. Itoh san provided great service to us and brought the chef to every table to hear reviews about the food at the end of the dinner. Food was great. Best dish of the day was the salmon! Really soft, fresh and juicy. Our medium rare steaks were well cooked. Spent $771 for 3 people, including 2 bottles of red wine. Not a bad deal.
Great place with quality food. Place is small and cosy, love the woody interior. Portion is a bit small but otherwise, a very satisfactory meal.
The building where there is Wakanui is still under construction,so I lost. But restaurant was so nice and also atmosphere was good for dating or anniversary. We ordered lumb steaks. It tasted so good.I want to visit there and eat lumb again.
The ambiance is good and the entrance primed me for a good experience. I got that feeling. After seated, a waiter with wine expertise guide us thru how to go about combining pur food with wine. Our food was so good, especially the rib eye cut and the lamb sticks.
Overpriced and very very average steak - would not recommend. Apparently a 'NZ Japanese concept' but wouldn't have known that had someone not told us -
Enjoyed the lamb chop! Love the mussels especially the sauce or the soup :) The ribeye cut is definitely worth trying. Service was attentive and prompt. Will return!
Enjoyed the grilled meats and wine, excellent services all around. I especially enjoyed the lamb chops and Chateau Monviel 2008. The grilling on the bone-in ribeye and fillet are perfect medium rare, though I would have preferred a bit more char and burnt ends. All in all a wonderful evening if you don't mind the prices.
Great service, had a surprise dessert for my friend's belated birthday from our small talk!!! Recommended dishes were all excellent, a little salty but best paring with Syrah:)
The beef was just delicious. The wine list has some very nice New Zealand wines. Staff are very professional. The room could do with a bit of “warming” up: a little dark.
Some people cannot eat beaf because of religion. So I think you already have ram meat menu, that is very good, but I think you should have some kind of chicken meat menu.
Food was excellent, well worth the price. Loved the ambiance and service level of the staff. Restaurant was a tad isolated - probably the only restaurant operating in the whole building. Would definitely visit again nonetheless.
