About Vineyard at HortPark

Situated directly at the beautiful Hortpark along Hyderabad Road, Vineyard at HortPark is one fantastic bistro with a strong focus on garden-to-table dining – a rarity in land-scarce Singapore where ingredients are often imported from abroad. In fact, the herbs and vegetables are grown in the restaurant’s very own garden, which means that all dishes served here are prepared with only the freshest and most nutrient-dense produce. Experience a high-quality and daring take on French and Italian cuisine at this Telok Blangah gem, but don’t forget to book ahead for the best seats.

Formerly known as Vineyard, this restaurant on Hyderabad Road has recently undergone a total refresh to emerge as an innovative dining spot that presents modern French and Italian cuisine made with the freshest produce sourced directly from its garden, as well as from local farmers.

No matter what you order at Vineyard at HortPark, you can surely expect every dish to be bursting with flavour. Start off with an appetiser like the whole fried local quail with plum & berries compote and crispy kale, or have a charcuterie platter to share among your crew. Moving on to mains, the Snake River Farm Wagyu Beef Flat Iron is a winner, comprising 180g of premium char-grilled meat with Pommery mustard mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus and pickled vine tomato – what’s not to like? Alternatively, the famed duck confit offers a robust bite too, featuring a duck leg traditionally cured with juniper berries, orange gel and roasted parsnip, and cooked in its own fat. For dessert, you can’t go wrong with a classic Italian tiramisu, but should you prefer to linger over a drink, you’re in for a treat with the restaurant’s assortment of creative cocktails and mocktails. Few places in Singapore provide high-quality nourishment and a respite from the madding crowd in the same way like Vineyard at HortPark does, so reserve a table at this nature-inspired gem in Telok Blangah to avoid disappointment.

Top notch service that was personal and attentive. Food was beautifully plated and tasted delicious. Scenery was amazing by the windowside. Extra touch of birthday surprise was fantastic.

Food is good - from appetizers to main courses- and the ambience is cosy, even while the tables are generously wide to give each diner plenty of elbow room.

We went in a party of 9 pax (2 toddlers within) with the following orders, which came up to around S$380 for Sunday lunch. Order: 1) 1 x salmon poke 2) 1 x Charcuterie Platter 3) 1 x fish & chips (kids) 4) 1 x roasted chicken (kids) 5) 1 x Al Fungi pizza 6) 1 x Margherita pizza 7) 1 x catch of day 8) 2 x Iberico Pork Chop 9) 2 x Wagyu Beef 10) 1 x French Onion soup Pros: 1) Newly decorated and exudes warm and welcoming ambiance. 2) Surrounded by Greenery with a bouncy castle for kids to play. 3) Roast Poulet was fantastic. Cons: 1) We specifically requested for baby chairs in our reservations and yet the server questioned us whether did we specify in our reservation. I even called a day before to confirm my reservation. 2) We ordered fish & chips for the child because we wanted food for her to eat first. Guess what? They forgotten all about the order and was only served when all adults finished eating and our repeated asking where is the kids meal. 3) Medium rare Wagyu steak (flat iron) was served "BLUE RARE". That's as close to eating it raw straight from the bovine. Even after re-firing the steak, it was still served rare. Another order of medium was also served "BLUE RARE". We cannot spot the difference between the 2. 4) Service was slow and servers were non-existent at times even though it wasn't running at full capacity. We noted 3 servers during that day's service. 5) French Onion soup is seriously terrible. Worst I've ever tasted. No taste, no melted cheese on the soup and at S$12 (before service charge and GST), it's really a total ripoff. To think that I had wanted to hold my wedding there previously. Thank goodness that I've decided otherwise based on my experience above. It's really a shame as the restaurant is located in a very nice strategic place. Tips: 1) Request for seats not next to the entrance to kids play area when making reservations. Kids don't close the door all the time and you find yourself dining Al Fresco style. 2) Must try the Local Farmed Poulet. 3) Do not order french onion soup. Try at own risk.

The environment and staffs services are excellent ! The quality and taste of the food are fantastic. As my sister pregnant and have to take a well done steak, when it first serve she can't tell from the surface and she finished all the vege and potato wages before start to take the beef, when she cut the beef and realise is non fully cooked yet and requested for fully cooked. After reserve the steak all the vege and potato were refilled. This is something surprise to us as a guest ! We will definitely recommend to our peer for the restaurant.

The ambience of the restaurant is pleasantly rustic and cosy... Being nestled in nature at hortpark, dinner there proved to be quite romantic. The deco of the restaurant was simple yet elegant with tables made from natural raw wood. Although we went as a family, we still enjoyed the nicely presented food and the cosy setting... Had good family time there as the place is very conducive for chatting... though restaurant was quite full, the good space between tables were very good for conversations. Love it!

I went using Groupon voucher. The food was 3/5 but service by the staff was poor 1/5 - unfriendly (maybe because we are groupon customer) and unattentive (very mechanical and robotic way of serving). As a Groupon customer, although we don't pay the full price for the meal, the restaurant could have been more pro-active to upsell. For example, Groupon voucher comes with appetiser and main course. The only upsale was to ask if we would like Still or Sparkling water. After the main course what could have been done or improve the service was to ask if we would like to have coffee/tea or any deserts. The ambience is nice and cosy but I will not return because of the poor service and the food is average which I can get similar taste from restaurants such as Poulet, Jack's Place, Aston. My impression of Vineyard based on its website and the actual ambience was very close to fine dining and quiet - diners were talking very loudly like Jack's Place.

*Used a Groupon voucher for this visit. Pros: Went a little later than my reserved timeslot (830PM) and was promptly seated. The appetizer came quite quickly, which was great! Food was pretty decent - I enjoyed my roast chicken a lot even if it was a tinge too salty. My boyfriend ordered the sirloin steak, which was seared well. Cons: Was offered sparkling water without being notified of its extra costs, and could not retract our decision because they've "already opened the bottle". I found that very sneaky and unpleasant. Main course took a while to come out, only finished the whole meal at about 930PM. The food portions were a little small, but maybe that's how fine dining works.

Main courses taste good and portions were big. We had the peach melba which was too 'ger-lat' (rich) for us. Service was average except for one staff Joanne who was good. She was friendly, always smiling. We ordered a glass of wine. The staff forgot to serve it until we reminded Joanne almost halfway through our meal. She served the wine immediately and to our surprise, due to their mistake, it was on the house. They have a bouncy castle on weekend brunch. Will be going back with kids
