Situated on Owen Road in Farrer Park, TingKat PeraMakan Singapore specialise in excellent Asian cuisine. The name ‘PeraMakan’ is a play on words that combines the words for ‘local-born’ and ‘to eat’, so you will find the Singapore and Peranakan cultures combining perfectly at TingKat PeraMakan. If you love eating as much as we do, you can look forward to tucking into dishes such as beef rendang (shin beef braised in spicy coconut sauce till tender and served with spicy fried coconut flakes) or if you’d prefer some seafood, opt for some sotong panggang (fresh pieces of squid marinated in fragrant spices and served with cabbage salad). With dishes like this on the menu and an excellent atmosphere, we’d highly advise nabbing a table today!
Cosy eatery with great food. You can truly have a hearty meal here with your family and friends. Everything tasted wonderful. I loved the beef rendang and bakwan kepiting soup.
Restaurant was cozy and food was delicious! I thought it was quite close to authentic peranakan dishes although friends thought otherwise. Chendol was nice if you like a good dose of gula Melaka
Super super good Peranakan food. Great service and choice in the menu. The prices are also very reasonable, especially for that level of comfort, simply great.
Excellent Peranakan fare at reasonable prices. Some new items on the menu. The seafood otak is done just right so that the spicy custard remains moist and explodes with flavours.
The menu was simple making ordering easy. Food was excellent in taste, and texture, and presentation, especially the beef rendang, and bakwan kepiting, but on the portions were relatively small. The service, despite being very busy this evening (being mother's day), was quick and the servers were efficient without the food getting cold after leaving the kitchen, as the kitchen was in full view. Our server and outlet supervisor, Cheryl V., was outstanding even when we had to verify the number of items ordered as we seemingly requested a second portion without placing an original order.
Altho the sets at $14 for a main..2 sure..a drink n dessert were of goid value.. the food wasn't impressive like it used to be. Apart fr ayam sio which was nice. The rest were quite bland. We ordered babi pongteh n ikan masak asam. The fish was so so diluted that it tasted like it was cooked and only water added for the gravy We were also disappointed w the cendol.. ice was coarse and few strands of cendol n kidney beans. Overall .i wouldn't go back again.
The set meals were of good value. Each set comes with a main dish, two side dishes, a drink and a dessert. The pork ribs was excellent. Ayam SIL was a tad bit on the sweet side for me. Will go back to try other dishes.
Small cozy restaurant but rather noisy when crowded. Food was pretty good, rendang beef and lamb, Ayam buah kulak. But food took very Long to arrive. Rice potions rather small and served cold unlike some other peranakan eateries where white rice served steaming hot and refillable.
Easy to find but parking need to walk a distance especially for senior citizens. Food above average. The salted duck soup very very salty. Beef good and mutton ordered but never serve.
It was altogether good and we will be heading back again! Friendly staff, good service and reasonable price. A perfect gathering for friends and family
