The Salted Plum in Singapore’s Boat Quay is a must-visit for Asian-food fans looking for something a little different. Located right in the heart of the city, this Circular Road restaurant is popular among workers on their lunch break who come in for the famous lunch bowls. Favourites include the pork chop bowl, the burnt chilli chicken rice and the famous lu rou fan, braised pork belly served with kai lan, a sous-vide egg and rice.
The Salted Plum has something to suit just about anyone’s taste buds. The seafood here is as fresh as it gets – you can even order a live boston lobster if that’s what you’re into – and you’ll even find options like braised pig intestines, oyster steamed eggs, and soy-glazed chicken hearts with fried ginger. And who doesn’t like a good steak? The Salted Plum also offers a delicious seared sirloin steak that’s as good as at any regular steakhouse. Finish up with the red tea jelly with tapioca pearls for a sweet end to an extraordinary meal at this Boat Quay hotspot.
Very friendly staff. Service was prompt and good. Great and pocket friendly food! The pig intestine was very soft and tasty. Shiny rice was free flow. Awesome. Will patronise them again!
Great place for catchup with friends, you can eat happily with your friends. Food is good and drink variety can improve more. Overall a great time.
food was great, and the staff were really friendly and even went the extra mile to recommend suitable portions for us first timers :-) definitely coming back again!!
Small but cosy restaurant. Food is affordable (either $5 or $10) and really tasty. Had the pork belly and dried chili chicken which was really umami and not overly salty. Reservation is highly recommended as restaurant seemed really busy as well.
Pros: The meat stuff are all tasty and we enjoyed it. The service is prompt and friendly. I personally like their choice of mando-pop too, kinda nostalgia Cons: The servicing size is really small, roughly 2x what you will get from ordering from a economic rice stall. Kinda pricey if you considered that. The veg dish is quite salty and underwhelming.
Simple looking but great tasting food at affordable prices. Prawns are fresh too, worth a try. Wait staff are attentive. The only downside is that the rice portion is about half the normal serving. Overall, a place worth visiting!
Convenient location within walking distance from Clarke Quay Mrt. The dishes were great as the seasoning were mixed well. Friendly staff and food comes quickly too :)
Food is good even though small portion. Place is tight but Service is friendly but busy! Will return with friends and to try other dishes
Service was great. Food was average and on the slightly salty and oily side. Good for groups as portions are great for sharing. Fried chicken with nori mayo is Super yummy!
Space was a little too cosy, was irked that despite a reservation I was still given a communal table. Food was decent nonetheless so that was fine.
