For brunch, lunch or dinner, The Provincial is one of the hottest cafe restaurants in Sydney for contemporary plates of good Australian food. To be precise, you’ll find it in Rozelle on Terry Street, where an impressive selection of dishes are cooked over a wood fired charcoal parilla that was imported straight from Spain. Pretty cool, ey? Some of our favourite main dishes from the dinner menu that we’re pretty sure will tickle your fancy include the ricotta and mushroom gnocchi, the New England lamb belly with spiced eggplant and baby zucchini, as well as any one of the plates to share. Those in Rozelle know it’s pretty difficult to go wrong with The Provincial, why not go and see what the fuss is about?
Pleasant space, pleasant, professional staff without being intrusive, excellent food. My only negative was that the seats lining the wall were not comfy as the night moved on, but that’s more me than anything else. I was concerned in advance about parking, but then I found the parking area inside the building with lift access to the restaurant. A lovely night.
We had a great meal and the host Jean Paul was friendly and attentive giving excellent information regarding the menu choices. The food was excellent - interesting side dishes which are a nice change from the usual. We have booked for next week so that's an indication of our impressions.
Loved this place. We had the Fathers Day set menu & it was the best food with plenty to share. The set out & ambiance of this place is very appealing too. Few little things missing ... like serving spoons but nothing that couldn't be promptly fixed.
