Tandoori Corner Balestier

Tandoori Corner doesn’t beat about the bush: they stand on a corner – of Balestier Road and Jin Ampas in Toa Payoh, to be specific – and they have a tandoori oven. We damn them with faint praise though: their oven is one of the best in Singapore and pumps out Indian specialities all day long, from traditional tandoor favourites like chicken tikka and mutton kebab, as well as plenty of fresh breads and curries to keep regulars coming back for more.

Singapore is not short of great places to eat Indian food, from the traditional joints of Little India and Racecourse Road to the high-end hotel restaurants of the Downtown Core. In Toa Payoh, they have a restaurant that is unequivocal in its intentions: Tandoori Corner on Balestier Road is all about the oven, and the magical things that it can do the breads and meats when given half an opportunity.

Tandoori Corner offers the tikka, kebab and naan staples which define any top-notch Indian tandoori restaurant, but to limit their output to just these dishes would do a disservice to the Balestier Road. They also boast a menu that is heavy in Indian classics: butter chicken, vindaloo, rogan josh and more. Head on over and enjoy one of the best tandoori restaurants in Singapore – just remember to book your table in advance to avoid disappointment.
