When the Chinese New Year rolls around, it’s hard to get a table at this favourite Sembawang Road restaurant that specialises in Japanese fusion interpretations of yusheng and peng cai steamboat at this time of year, so be sure to book ahead to guarantee yourself and your family a your position around the lazy susan. Naturally, canny Singapore diners can take advantage of Tan Yi Tan BBQ Shao Kao Wu’s lunchtime specials for a discount feast – but again we recommend a reservation for what is proving a popular way to get in on all the Japanese charcoal grill and steamboat action.
The environment is cosy, nice and good for gathering. A lot of steamboat and bbq variety food to choose and the food is fresh and nice.
Waiting time was short and luckily reservation was made via quandoo that was why I got my seats pretty quick. Food as usual was awesome, staff has to be more atentive and alert at times but since it was peak period, still well done for the efforts. Will definitely visit again.
