The frenetic pace of life in Singapore often leaves us yearning for hangouts away from the city to refuel and catch up with loved ones in our free time. Thankfully, there are restaurants like Spruce at Fire Station, set amid lush greenery on the premises of a former fire station at Upper Bukit Timah Road that boasts a lip-smacking menu of modern American dishes to boot. With an impressive selection of wings, ribs, burgers and desserts, this charming Bukit Timah gem transforms into a popular brunch spot on weekends, so you’ll want to make a reservation before you get here.
Good ambience, food is nice, price is right. A good way go spend the night with nkce dinner in a good place. The nachos is nice
Awesome service from the staff! We are very impressed by their sincerity & pride in making sure customers enjoy their time there. Def will visit again and again and again :)
The food is very good - both my wife and I were impressed with our orders of lobster (her's) and blue cheese burger (mine). Even for a Friday evening, the staff were on top of everyone's needs too so also can't fault the service.
Easy to book & change time of reservation. Convenient, quick access but better if we could see menu choices & price of items. Good experience overall.
The ambience and food was good. Yet there’s room for improvement for the staffs.. As we ordered steak that expected it to be Medium cooked, but it seemed like Medium Well cooked to us Hence we requested for what we’ve ordered, which was Medium cooked. Unfortunately, I think it was manager who tried to deny and wanted us to accept that plate of steak instead.. Long in short, we managed to get another plate of medium cooked steak but the manager denied the fact that the steak was over cooked and instead, he suggested us to order Medium Rare steak the next round when we order steak again.. which I think, it was kinda rude (may be improved)
Serving portion was good and ambience was nice due to the live band and correct lighting. We sat on the inside though the ambience on the outside felt pretty good too. We had 3 mains - pork loin, sea bass & baby back ribs. The pork loin was tender though it was sliced a little too thick. The sea bass was a little salty for me but those who prefer a heavier taste would enjoy it. I enjoyed the baby back ribs too as it was nicely cooked.
Went there for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. The atmosphere was relaxed even with some construction within the premises. Staff was friendly and alert. Music was kept low enough for good conversation yet loud enough to be enjoyed. Fook was well presented, tasted great and very satisfying. Great place for the catch up I had with my friend.
For a sunday, this place was mostly filled with young families and a scattering of couples. The menu had a decent spread of your usual cafe brunch favorites, and the beverage list had the usual suspects such as artisanal tea. Food was served with minimal waiting time, the servers were surely quick on their feet to attend to tables. The portions of our two variations of big breakfast met up to our expectations with the exception that we wished they offered more butter on the side for our toast. The scrambled eggs was not served too runny nor curdled when cooled, thumbs up! Free parking is available, and a booking is preferred.
It is great to have such a big restaurant in the West with superb service and live band. Was there on Tuesday evening with wife and 2 kids. We were promptly greeted at the entrance and show to our table. Entertained by the live performance while waiting for food, which did not take long to serve. The young ones enjoyed eating Mister Macaroni from the Kids' menu.
The ambience was lovely and the service staff was marvellous. The place is kids-friendly. Food was not bad except that there were quite a number of items which were not available. Kudos to the service staff for our enjoyable dining experience. Will definitely be back with my family to try the food items that we missed out on.
